Autism Was in My Jeans ! (to be sung to the tune of House of the Rising Sun)

I went down into town one day
To buy some rice n beans
When in a window of a shop
I saw a pair of jeans.

Oh mothers, tell your children
Not to do what I have done.
Until that fateful summer's day,
I was normal as the sun.

Faded blue and lovely, they
Had just a hint of flare
I never knew the danger
Or what was hidden there

Oh mothers, tell your children
When you go to buy some beans
Don't be like me and spend the cash
On a pair of new blue jeans.

Autism can be caused by:

Reading Homestuck.
Reading articles at TVTropes.
Using lots of emoticons in forum posts.
Driving a hybrid, or an electric, car.
Taking a vacation in Italy. (This also applies to Italians who take a vacation in their home country.)
Beating I Wanna Be the Guy on Impossible difficulty, without using a walk-through.
Playing the video game Deus Ex.
Gravity.

It is a movie reference. The Rat Monkey and the line were both in the movie Braindead.

Gay rights in the United States

Mom or Dad doing something to piss of God (Jimmy Swanson's parents made fun of crippled kids in high school. Guess what happened to him...)

Not eating enough vegetables (I'm fairly certain my mom believes this)

AS is caused by a combination of exposure to hazard waste, gamma rays, cosmic radiation, and mutated spider bites.

Vaccines, or a combination of vaccines

Listening to some guy paid by a family suing for millions for vaccine related harm who is totally rejected by the scientific community and is stripped of his MD.

Is it true that mercury causes autism/Asperger's Syndrome? I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome when I was 12 and I have no clue why or how I got Asperger's Syndrome because I don't know anyone in my family that is autistic. :(

No. I could give you all these scientific papers (after I find them all again), but the short answer is no. Your parents or siblings do not need to have autism for a person to be born with it; it is genetic. I believe they have it up to 15 or 20 markers by now - which makes a cure VERY, VERY hard if at all possible.
