Well, here's one proof why the slut Jenny McCarthy shouldn't be trusted:

Jenny McCarthy on how she accidentally sent a naked picture to her son's dentist

Would you ever trust an idiot like her?

She allegedly said that she liked to confuse people by being pretty and farting in elevators. I can see why that is offensive.

I don't see why it is offensive to conflate autism spectrum disorders with an immune response or microbial imbalances.

I am still myself but see marked improvement, when I manage my eating -- completely irrespective of McCarthy's decorum or qualifications.

Digestion and autism may be completely unrelated, for all I know.

As someone who 'can't walk and chew gum at the same time,' indigestion might be no more than a petty distraction for me.

But, these protocols help me, when I can maintain them.

"Leo Kanner first described autism in eleven children in 1943.1 The symptoms as described by Kanner still serve as the template for our understanding of autism. In spite of the fact that more than half of the children had clear symptoms of possible intestinal disease, he interpreted the symptoms as psychologically-based— a misconception that persists today.

I tell my colleagues who say 'There is no link between the gut and the brain' that we should go out for a beer. They think I’m offering to buy them a drink, but they’re missing the point. If they drink a pint of beer, within five minutes or less they will feel the impact in their brains. Toxins from the gut reach the brain very, very quickly.

There are four features of the clinical history that we have heard from parents again and
again, starting in the clinic back in 1995. The first is that the child was developing normally,
consistently meeting their first-year milestones. Experts in autism have repeatedly told parents,
“Your child was never really quite right. You may have thought they were speaking but they
weren’t. That wasn’t the word ‘helicopter’ you heard, it was just a grunt.” This is an appalling
perception of the accuracy of the parents’ view of their own child.

Parents know their children--
they have known them for thousands and thousands of years. To make the assumption that they
did not recognize that their child was not normal is difficult to comprehend. (Alternatively, they
tell parents of children who have recovered from autism, “Your child was never really autistic.”)
In fact, there’s a paper that’s just come out from the University of Washington indicating that
parents are extremely astute observers of their children’s development.4

The second feature is regression into autism, often in close temporal relation to a vaccine
(usually MMR) or an infectious episode. There has often been a marked clinical reaction to the
vaccine, including prolonged high fever and debilitation, from which the child does not appear to
recover.

The third feature we hear about is the appearance of gastrointestinal symptoms. When
parents first came to me asking for help, I couldn’t imagine why they had sought out a
gastroenterologist. I knew nothing about autism. But the fact is that at the same time as their
regression into autism, these children developed hard neurological and GI symptoms.

Most
people are not aware that the intestine is the largest part of the body’s immune system. The gastrointestinal tract is man’s most important interface with his environment. It’s
full of bacteria, food, and toxins, particularly in the colon. They’re usually friendly bacteria that
are necessary for good health and immune system function.

More and more papers are emerging
(specifically from Gibson and Sandler) stressing the important role of intestinal bacteria in
normal immune development and function, and the role of these issues in the genesis of
developmental disorders.

The gastrointestinal tract starts with the esophagus, which leads into the stomach, through the
duodenum, into the small intestine, then into the colon (the large bowel), and down into the
rectum and the anus. I believe it to be of primary importance in the origins of many cases of
autism.

We published a paper in the Lancet in 1998, describing twelve children who presented
with both GI symptoms and developmental disorders.5 A follow-up paper confirming this
syndrome in sixty children was published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology.6 Karoly
Horvath at the University of Maryland published a paper describing inflammation in the upper
GI tract of these children.7

Next, there was a series of papers from our group at the Royal Free
Hospital in London characterizing the immunological and histological aberrations in the intestine
of these children, starting in the colon and then working progressively through the intestine.8 9 10
In characterizing the nature of the inflammatory infiltrate in the intestine, we began
asking the question, is this similar to diseases that we have seen before or is it different? If it is
similar to something we have seen before, where have we seen it?

Dr. Krigsman and his colleagues from New York University School of Medicine
presented their research at the International Meeting for Autism Research (IMFAR) in 2004.11
They described the first 147 cases that they had seen, confirming precisely the same disease that
we had first described in the United Kingdom.

And then more information came from Dr.
Federico Balzola in Italy, who presented at the American Gastroenterological Association in
Chicago in 200512 and published a paper in the American Journal of Gastroenterology13
describing exactly the same bowel disease in patients with autism from northern Italy. He
performed capsule enteroscopy in these children. The patient swallows a capsule (or has it inserted using the endoscope) that contains a tiny
camera; it passes through the intestine taking two pictures a second. For the first time, we could see disease of the
small intestine that we hadn’t been able to see before with traditional endoscopy:

A further fascinating study suggesting that lymphoid nodular hyperplasia is pervasive
across the range of developmental disorders came from Aderbal Sabra, the professor of pediatric
gastroenterology in Sao Paolo, Brazil, and Joe Bellanti, professor of pediatric immunology at
Georgetown University.14 It showed that the same bowel disease was present in some children
with ADHD and ADD, and interestingly in some girls with anorexia nervosa as well. So it may
be that for many children across the entire spectrum of developmental disorders there is at the
core an underlying gastrointestinal problem.

Replication of these striking findings is ongoing and far-reaching. Just last weekend I
was given a paper that was presented to the Venezuelan Society of Perinatology and Pediatrics
by a pediatric immunologist who won first prize for his efforts. He found inflammatory bowel
disease in 100% of the autistic children studied.15 So this idiosyncratic bowel disease is seen all
around the world in children with a variety of developmental disorders. It has been gratifying to
watch the replication unfold since our first observation."

Grrr, I hate that "Poor little incompetent" stuff from people who talk like that about autistics. And yes, the person who wrote the article was totally right... except about one thing. He says autism is heartbreaking. Autism is not heartbreaking; ignorance is!

I hate the way McCarthy, a porn star, pretends to understand me and dictates my life thru the media... that's right... the media is powerful!

It's a shame that this woman, who was responsible for giving me my first boner, is turning out to be such a dick herself.

A large number of children have regressed into severe disabilities following administration of vaccines. Many of these cases have rechallenge--where the vaccine causes noticeable damage, but for whatever reason the parents take them back for a booster, and the child's condition deteriorates further. Some of these children have very serious neurological or gastrointestinal problems... and some of them can be properly classified as "autistic."

The federal vaccine court was created to mediate the many cases of vaccine injury. Vaccine manufacturers lobbied for a law that exempted them from having to pay settlements out of their (deep) pockets, so taxpayers have to foot the bill. Unfortunately, there are so many cases of vaccine-injured children, that this fund is not enough to compensate them. Here are a few:

Bailey Banks - 'The judge rules that the Banks family successfully demonstrates that “the MMR vaccine at issue actually caused the conditions from which Bailey suffered and continues to suffer.” This includes Bailey’s diagnosis of Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified, which has long been recognized as an autism spectrum disorder by the CDC and other federal health agencies.'

Eric Lasseter - 'The Lassiter family presents Eric’s diptheria-pertusis-tetanus vaccination as the cause of his injuries, a diagnosis described as “static encepalopathy with autistic tendencies in addition to delayed development.” The judge rules that the Department of Health & Human Services’ “respondent’s evidence and proffered explanations are weak, unconvincing and insufficient” and that the Lassiter family “has presented a better case in support of. . . injury. The Court concludes that a preponderance of the evidence requires a finding for the petitioner."'

Richelle Oxley - 'The Oxley family presents their case that Richelle’s disabilities, including encephalopathy and autistic behaviors, are a result of the pertussis vaccine. The judge rules in their favor, stating that their “claim is strongly supported” by the presented evidence, and that there is “not a preponderance of the evidence that Richelle’s condition is due to factors unrelated to the administration of the vaccine.”'

Hannah Poling - 'The Division of Vaccine Injury Compensation, Department of Health and Human Services concedes that Hannah’s vaccinations aggravated her mitochondrial disorder, resulting in “features of autism spectrum disorder."' She has been diagnosed with DSM-IV autism.

Many damaged children have also made great progress using the dietary and detoxification (etc.) protocols advocated most famously by Jenny McCarthy, but also by numerous health professionals.

British Medical Journal - 'Relation of study quality, concordance, take home message, funding, & impact in studies of influenza vaccines' - http://www.bmj.com/content/338/bmj.b354.abstract -

‎"Search of the Cochrane Library, PubMed, Embase, and the web... identified 259 primary studies. Higher quality studies were significantly more likely to show concordance [agreement] between data presented and conclusions, and less likely to favour effectiveness of vaccines...

"Healthcare workers wanting to keep up to date with
recent advances in their specialty must deal with the
quantity and quality of information sources.[12] One
study estimated that every month journals publish
7287 items (studies, letters, and editorials) relevant to
primary care.

"These would take physicians trained in
epidemiology 627 hours to read and appraise. Few
healthcare workers have the time and skills to carry out
in depth critical appraisal of published articles.[3] Given
the pressures of everyday work, the time available for
reading a scientific article might be as little as
22 minutes.[4]

"To inform their conduct and update their knowledge
physicians might rely on a brief (two minute) scan of
material.[56] This probably includes either browsing the
abstract (the “shop window” of an article) or the
conclusions paragraph (the “take home message”),
especially those published in prestigious journals (that
is, those with the highest journal impact factor) that are
most readily available or of their digests.

"The impact
factor was specifically developed to facilitate prioritisation
of subscription resources, allowing targeting on the
most cited journals, considered to be most read and the
ones that publish articles of the best quality. These
journals are thus more likely to be accessible and their
content widely disseminated.[78]

"Higher citation index factor was associated with partial or complete industry funding... Publication in prestigious journals is associated with partial or total industry funding, and this association is not explained by study quality or size..."

‘Apparent Paradox of Measles Infections in Immunized Persons’ - http://archinte.ama-assn.org/cgi/conten ... 54/16/1815 -

“Results
We found 18 reports of measles outbreaks in very highly immunized school populations where 71% to 99.8% of students were immunized against measles. Despite these high rates of immunization, 30% to 100% (mean, 77%) of all measles cases in these outbreaks occurred in previously immunized students. In our hypothetical school model, after more than 95% of schoolchildren are immunized against measles, the majority of measles cases occur in appropriately immunized children.

“Conclusions
The apparent paradox is that as measles immunization rates rise to high levels in a population, measles becomes a disease of immunized persons. Because of the failure rate of the vaccine and the unique transmissibility of the measles virus, the currently available measles vaccine, used in a single-dose strategy, is unlikely to completely eliminate measles. The longterm success of a two-dose strategy to eliminate measles remains to be determined.”

Why haven’t we been beaten over the head with this information? Why is reporting always so skewed towards scare tactics that one-sidedly tout the purported necessity of vaccination? Why do the authors conclude that the solution might be a ‘two-dose strategy’, and fail to consider that the children would be better off not getting vaccinated at all, as their data suggest?

As full as crap as the vaccine thing is, I actually think it would be good if a specific "thing" could cause autism/asperger's. I mean, I don't think ALL autistics/Aspies are superior to NTs, but if we had more that would be great!

According to the paper ‘Multiple Causes of Autism Spectrum Disorders’ (http://www.thenhf.com/article.php?id=367): “There is, for instance, information associating autistic disorders with the use of an artificial hormone (Pitocin) which is given to pregnant women to induce or speed up labor. [11] [It comes from the pituitary glands of cattle, and is used to stimulate the gravid uterus to contract]… Dr Eric Hollander of New York’s Mount Sinai School of Medicine, a physician who specializes in treating autistic kids, reported noticing that 60% of the autistic patients in his clinic had been exposed to this drug as a fetus. [12]”

Later on, it points out: “Speaking about the rise of autism Dr. George Malcolm Morley and Eileen Nicole Simon PhD. say, ‘We propose that increased incidence of autism, infant anemia, childhood mental disorders and hypoxic ischemic brain damage, all originate at birth from immediate umbilical cord clamping. The influence of new environmental exposures, such as iatrogenic birth traumas, such as interruption of placental transfusion at birth, cannot be discounted.’ [19]”

This quote from Dr Rashid Buttar provides some insight: “The underlying common denominator in chronic neurodegenerative disease seems to be either decreasing vascular supply (less blood to the brain) or accumulation of heavy metals, specifically mercury.”

Continuing, “Most recently research is giving us one more reason to favor natural birth over Caesarean section that has implications for later development of neurological problems. A natural birth provides a baby with better protection against diseases and allergies than if it is born by Caesarean section, according to researchers at Glasgow University, who discovered that the gut of babies who had been delivered normally contained higher levels of "friendly" bacteria, such as bifidobacteria. These are particularly important, as they are the first bacteria to enter a child's digestive system and play a crucial role in developing the immune system. [9] …With many indications that autism and immune system weakness are related, we have every reason in the world to favor natural birth.”

So here are a number of feasible mechanisms that could contribute to autism development, consisting of well-meaning medical interventions aside from vaccination. Another fascinating hypothesis is presented in the paper ‘How Electromagnetically-Induced Cell Leakage May Cause Autism’ (http://www.citizensforsafetechnology.or ... ism,16,977):

“There has been a 60-fold increase in ASD in recent years, which cannot be accounted for by improvements in diagnostic methods and can only be explained by changes in the environment. This increase corresponds in time to the proliferation of mobile telecommunications, WiFi, and microwave ovens as well as extremely low frequency fields (ELF) from mains wiring and domestic appliances. We can now explain this in terms of electromagnetically-induced membrane leakage leading to brain hyperactivity and abnormal brain development…

“Neurons transmit information between one another in the form of chemical neurotransmitters that pass across the synapses where they make contact. However, the release of these is normally triggered by a brief pulse of calcium entering the cell. If the membrane is leaky due to electromagnetic exposure, it will already have a high internal calcium concentration as calcium leaks in from the much higher concentration outside. The effect of this is to put the cells into hair-trigger mode so that they are more likely to release neurotransmitters and the brain as a whole may become hyperactive (Beason and Semm 2002; Krey and Dolmetsch 2007, Volkow et al. 2011)…”

And then, according to beyondpesticides.org, “At publication, the database lists 5 studies linking pesticides to autism. A study published in the October 2007 issue of Environmental Health Perspectives shows that children born to mothers living within 500 meters agricultural fields, where organochlorine pesticides, specifically endosulfan and dicofol, are applied during their first trimester of pregnancy, are six times more likely to have children that develop autism. The scientists conclude that the “possibility of a connection between gestational exposure to organochlorine pesticides and autism spectrum disorders requires further study.” http://ehp03.niehs.nih.gov/article/info ... /ehp.10168
