Why not separate from sociaty?
lately i read alot about autism, and realized i could be autistic too
even if i'm not- i must be somewhere in the near spectrum.
one thing i don't understand - why don't we just unite and separate from sociaty?
why raise awareness about autism knowing that even if we achieve this goal- people will still not understand us, even if they do- they will still intuitively misinterpret what we are trying to do or say,
lock our minds in a box of illogic thinking patterns.
i feel like so many "of your kind" are sentanced to OCD by sociaty, trying their best for survival and figured out the system that "worked"- called OCD.
i think an autistic nation could be benefitial for each and every one of us, more than that- good idea will be used, and not wasted, nation governed by philosophy and not by failing money grabbing politicians.
I've also been doing some reading and thinking about evolution and epigenetics, and i think autism is evolution happening infront of our eyes, i think the reason it's corrolated with parent's stress is that the parents believe a "mixed brain" with left and right hemispheres connected will make the child with a better chance for survival, and the neurological deficits are side effects, "fast evolution bug".
What do you think?, more important - what are you willing to do for you and your kids to have better life?
I've been in private school for kids with autism my entire school life, so I know what it's like to be completely surrounded by others with autism. Personally I don't think it's any better of a situation. Everyone is still different from each other. There's still bullies and snobs and jerks and so on there. Humans are humans.

Where do you put the country?
Since no country is likely to voluntary give up land to "diseased" people how do we take it and keep it by force?
How do you deal with all the languages autistics speak, if they speak?
How would the Autistica define who is autistic? Who would diagnose? Would self diagnosis be accepted? Feelings are so strong about self diagnosis, a civil war to settle this would be a realistic possibility.
How would Autistica deal with NT's? Even with two autistic parents, autistic offspring are far from guaranteed.

An autistic community running its own affairs in order to escape the harsh misunderstandings of non-autistic society sounds like a nice idea at first glance. But you would still get a form of the same problems we experience in society in just like already happens right here on WP.
Just as NT people out there in general can accuse people on the spectrum of anything from not even having a proper diagnosis, to making their condition an excuse for anything from meltdowns or inability to cope gracefully with pressure and stress (just "bad behavior") to failing to be able to work (just "lazy"), so you see autistic people on HERE doing the same thing to other autistic people.
It would be no form of escape from judgements, admonishments, looking down on others, feeling bullied by others. It would just be more of the same.
As long as you have any people together in a place or a situation, you will have in-fighting, gossip, some judging others, people disliking people, people being unfair to people, and even people saying to other people that despite their diagnosis "You're not autistic" or "you're making excuses" "You're not trying hard enough like I do" and the fighting that ensues from THAT. WP is no bastion of harmony and understanding, why would a special society be and different?

Does know one remember the thread Fnord is a bully. Where people didn't even ask why he was doing that and jumped toward assumptions that he was doing it on purpose. Which is most likely the reason he left. Oh, Today is the anniversary of the day I joined wrong planet either that or this Saturday. Yes, People do bully people. I think good intentions matter just as much as good actions. Having good intentions should out weigh the bad actions caused by misunderstanding. Is it me, Certainly might be. Being blunt is a part of it. Some people aren't as blunt. Those people aren't going to like the people who are it is natural.

First of all, welcome to WP.
One of the core reasons that Neurodiverse individuals have not yet set up our own structures is how atomized the Neurodiverse community is. We are, by most measures, a small percentage of several very distinct countries and cultures, split apart by thousands of miles, and most of our surrounding cultures have already been sociality atomized in the last 70 years or so.
One of the most important things that can be done to advance the goal of having separate institutions and cultures is to strength then Neurodiverse community that does support that goal. For example, you can participate here, or at other publicly open and private sites that support the development of separate Neurodiverse community structures, attend, support, or host local offline events and group building functions, or join one of several existing groups with pro-Neurodiversity views. Once there are publically available physical events and communities, you can visit them as well.

Because that's not how humans work. If every subculture or marginalized group just separated themselves from society, we wouldn't make nearly as much progress. In fact, we'd go back to constant wars. If autistic people separated from society, what would prevent gay and trans people from doing the same? Or people of different races? I go to a liberal arts college and live in an all-white small town. In both cases, nobody has made much progress because when they hear a different perspective they cover their ears and go "lalalalalaIcan'thearyou." It encourages attitudes of racism, ableism, etc. Humans need diversity. Diversity breeds social movements and technological and scientific innovation, as well as different types of entertainment. Diversity makes people develop empathy. A world of microcosms would fall apart within a human lifetime.
You raised alot of points i wasn't aware of or didn't think enough about,
i think many of them are fixable, it doesn't have to be for autistics only, it could be for 'sane' people too
but i think that human behavior is changeable with the right leaders,
psychology and philosophy will be easier to apply in this nation compared to every other nation,
since philosophy will rule the nation, teachers will be taught how to deal best with this kind of human behaviors,
most behaviors are changeable, with educated teachers, educated parents to better raise their children -
we will have a possibilty for a great change.
psychology and philosophy usually aren't applied in any nation, and every small change requires a huge effort because of it
but history teaches us that once philosophy is in charge changes are happening alot faster, and alot better
Jesus, Moses, Abraham- all changed a generation using religion very quickly, they created moral
(a very hard change for uncivilized people)

Those three people were prophets. Philosophy can't be in charge all the time. And it still took a monumental effort for their changes to happen. Also, charisma alone cannot carry a movement. Eventually the charismatic leader dies or steps down. There needs to be some sort of order, and that's usually accomplished through bureaucracy. Said bureaucracy then makes its own rules, which hurt a marginalized group until a new prophet steps up. It's a cycle, not a permanent state of being.
