as far as i am aware, and i am positive it was in the guardian facebook app around 17th feb, that they mentioned ATOS is a french company who have been in trouble a few time before. and in general none of the assessors have any medical or mental health experience, and are generally hand picked to be those horrid little officious types who enjoy devaluiang others lives for a sense of power.
but back to the point, ATOS is french.
their contract is NOT to make the "new" benefit" fair, but to knock a given quota off the books. fairness or helpfulness does not come into any of their guidelines, there mission is simply to get people off the benefits system. and no regards to the effects that this WILL have.
(when i joined this blog, i put in family member of Asperger's..., i am not, i am actuually adult ADHD) a writer on this page has said they believe the assesment to be disciminatory. in fact it is the opposote it has no discrimination at all, it wants us ALL off OUR benefits
no one is being given any preperation, or help, the governemnt or dole are not even obliged to inform, advize, or help. no human rights enter the equation. individual circumstances do not enter the equation. and in fact, this genuinly feels like a throw back to margaret thatcher. anyone old enough to fully remember her will understand how that felt. and those not effected by her ways then, will certainly be tainted by it now.
the atos testing comes into effect at a time where there is a mass lie being perpetuated that almost ALL folk on DLA< income support, sickness benefit, incapacity, and attendance allowance are all conning the system! stereotypes from shameless and jeremy kyle are being employed by the usual suspetcs THE SUN newspaper, and daily mail, and express. and is helping dehumanize and distance those on benefits from "right thinking people" reall people. and we have no real voice or power to do a single thing about this. democratic? go figure.
long term, this has nothing at all to do with helping the defacit in the slightest, as for example, with DLA, as little as 0.5% were defrauding the dss. so let us get this in perspective. long term, it has mnore to do with disempowering people, and too, to help create an atmoshpere of fear and desperation, seperating people from each other, until we will work for as little money and as long hours as chinese and indonesians.
the government is also trying to imply that benefits are bad because we get more on benefits than do many chinese and indonesian full time workers. but only a fool would truly fall for that line as if one thinks about this sensibly, the real issue there is WHY ARE UK BUSINESSES BUYING SUPPORTING CHEAP/SLAVE-LIKE LABVOUR AND CHILD LABOR FROM THESE COUNTRIES, and isnt it SHAMEFUL that these countries pay there hard working people so cynically little. instead of attacking the weakest, most vulnerable people here.
like pople with Asperger's syndrome, i having ADHD appear "normal" (what is "normal" but another word for apparently-average), and can physically work, but cannot sustain it and therefore am very vulnerable to being abused from within the dss itself.
it is worth noting too that NONE of the other political parties are standing against this scam. for a scam it surely is. therefore i would strongly reccomend that each person on this forum take action within their community, and fellow :"sufferers". as without each other we will NOT survive this "benefit".
no party has the backbone to take the stand, although, i the house of lords, many compassionate members HAVE helped delay the proposals to date. thank goodness in this instance for the house of lords.
we need to form help groups, with voluntary advisers with law experience, medical/mental health experience, all on a professional level. and if we try hard enough we WILL find support from members of the professions. we need folk to create online groups, dissemination of flyers, and pamphlets, and even computing experts who can help slow things down on the government side. (read that as you will).
and DO NOT BE FOOLED, this has little or nothing to do with fairness, benefits, or help. it has everything to do with finishing what margaret thatcher began, and will us again be paying for the greed and irresponsibility of the city bankers.
get it? the old, the poor, the needy, the infirm, special needs, we are ALL under serious threat by this government, and we need to remove them, and revive a sense of national comunity, where it is NOT shamelful to recieve help in the form of benefits. it is WE the people who pay the tazes that make up these benefits, community charges, but it is we the people who cannot decide on what is done with OUR money, and in fact recieve less and less each year. where is it going? again government servants and bailing out city bankers, and these very suspect wars our governments have been involving us in for their greed.
and no, ATOS are not american, they are french, ATOS ARE FRENCH
