I believe they actually put more money into prenatal testing, which wouldn't affect you at all.

I don't care for them, not the best organisation but I don't let it get to me.
And bdhkhsfgk, I don't understand why you are so extremely against being diagnosed with autism, when if you are already diagnosed with AS it makes you autistic anyway.
I really don't get you sometimes... no actually all the time.

Technically it's not a mental illness but I do see where you're coming from. I personally disagree with autism speaks because of the way they put their message across and many people don't want to be seen in a negative light. But I fully understand those who might want to find a cure.

Still,i'd rather have no autistic people exist than have autistics with the right to speak.Autism,as any other illness,should be prevented.

Not really. You could argue that in the case of more severe people, maybe, but the rest of us just have a different way of thinking at the end of it.

Autism Speaks does not speak for me, and this is the reason why. As a staunch Pro-lifer, I feel that everybody should be brought into this world, and allowed to live a long life. I disagree with the abortion of any baby who has any type of disability, or difference. As far as I'm concerned, autism is not an illness, it's a disorder, and just because an unborn child has a disorder, does not mean that the mother's pregnancy should be terminated. All children are a gift from God, and that's just the way that it is. Nobody better attack me and question me about this, because I know exactly where I stand on this. I know my own mind, and I don't need people telling me that I don't.

It will damage me, and make me unpopular among my best friends, they accept AS, but despise autism, I would rather chose my friends over, as a video about Autism Speaks once said, "one of the worst disorders of all time", autism IS one of the worst disorders, nothing like AS, no offense.

Hi Bdhkhsfgk, so-called friends that would deny you their friendship because you are autistic are not friends at all. It's hard for me to understand your environment and the people you are around, but where I teach, differences don't hinder friendships. I am not saying that discrimanation doesn't exist here, but it sure isn't what I have heard in other places, and our "differences" students are often just as popular as the rest. You need to have confidence in yourself and not worry. I hope you realize that there are many of us here at the WrongPlanet that care deeply about you. Accept our support.
