YouTube isn't a reliable source of information, neither are forum posts. Give me a link to a reliable source backing your statistic or it's obviously crap.

That's not a source for statistical information; that is your experience there and your opinion. Even if you did a counted comparison on YouTube of the different videos, it still would not be accurate because it is only representative of those who took the initiative to put a video online who also have a child with autism. "Autism can be a tragedy" and "it can destroy (a) family as a whole" are statements expressing your opinion and do represent things that do happen - it's the middle passage where you seem to have gone a different direction.

I can remember at least one mom here that said that having a child with autism said; "It feels like being trapped in a horrible nightmare". I can't remember which member though.

Youtube, you're next;

I have met some mom's IRL too, and I wholeheartedly agree with them that severe autism is a burden, remember; "Mother's-Knows-Best."

That is not evidence for anything, it just means there's three people you know, and two YouTube videos, have that view. If I search YouTube I can find loads of videos showing the opposite views, this one for instance:

...But that proves nothing. Anyone can make a video on YouTube, and anyone can post on a forum. I posted on here that I have millions and live in Monaco, but it's still not true (yet ;)).

Plus, the Autism Speaks video you posted is hardly accurate, see here: http://www.autism-hub.co.uk/autism-spea ... /index.php <-it was all set up.

And as makuranososhi said, it's not statistical information and doesn't even define "a family as a whole".

Again, give me a reliable source of information with a proper study, or your point is null and void.

You seem to be completely unaware of the fact that many parents of severely autistic children gets their lives destroyed, I can feel their pain.

You seem to be completely unable to actually give me any evidence of that.

I talked to some parents of autistic children IRL, and I asked them if they had to choose between a child with autism and an NT child, they would choose an NT child, because it's a burden to have a child with autism.

I'm an aspie, and I would definitely choose an NT child instead of a child with autism without a second thought, just ask your parents and friends if they would want to.

I talked to someone who told me he would rather be a pixie instead of a human, he'd have magic dust and be able to fly. IS THAT THE SAME AS AN ACTUAL STUDY THAT PIXIES EXIST? NO. So GIVE ME EVIDENCE that what you're saying is true instead of telling me who you've talked to, because that means NOTHING.

It seems you have trouble to accept the fact that parents of children with autism ends up heartbroken, devastated, crushed.

This is just a joke. I'm ending this conversation now, because it's obvious you're talking utter crap and can't back anything you say up with actual evidence.

And you seem incapable of acknowledging here that you are only talking about your personal experience instead of a universal truth. That there are families who are torn apart by ASDs was acknowledged previously; you're welcome to keep carrying your banner, but to converse about it here is proving itself to be pointless.

That's too general a thing to say. Of course some parents would not want their autistic children to have difficulties (particularly if their children have severe autism) but at the same time a lot of people would not change their autistic children for NT children. However it depends on the parents and children as obviously some autistic children are extremely difficult to care for. Besides a lot of NT children are nightmares.

You can't compare NT children to children with autism, NT children have a future, children with autism don't, they end up in institutions.

OK, that's utter crap. I present to you Bram Cohen - he has Asperger's. He invented BitTorrent, the biggest P2P network in the world. It makes up for about 40% of all internet traffic. He also started BitTorrent Inc. and has become a millionaire as a result.

Then, of course, there's the speculation of Bill Gates, Einstein, etc.
