Well, there is this manga known as With the Light about a mother raising an autistic son Hikaru who has moderate autism, Miyu who also has autism to the same degree as Hikaru, Tomoyo, who is a bright kid with Asperger's, this other kid in Hikaru's special ed class who transferred who definitely had both ADHD and Asperger's, then there was a kid named Tsubasa who was dyslexic.

Anyone else wish that films with other types of Aspie characters like Eagle vs Shark would say that the characters were Aspie?
Oh, I definitely want films with various types of Aspie characters to say that the characters were Aspie.

Or do you think it makes being in society easier for us that these 'types' are socially recognizable to NT's (i.e. I'm a bit odd but I'm like that girl in that film, not an axe murderer) without them and therefore us having to be labelled 'disabled'/other ?
No, I don't.

Is it good? I really want to read the manga, but I'm not sure if the portrayal is accurate. Oh, and what's it's age rating? I'm not allowed to read anything for people over thirteen.

It is not just the way they look, but also the way they sound, their facial expressions and their body languages.

IDK, how about batman or the phantom of the opera?

Well Batman or Bruce Wayne never showed any signs of autism or Aspergers. He would most likey would have PTSD after witnessing the murder of his Parents. Erik*Phantom of the opera's real name in the book* Would also have PTSD after the constent abuse he would've recived. He also was a Sycopatch as well. But he could've have suffered with Autism. With his in-depth knowlge of music, art, achrtecture, and magic. It could be possible.

On NCIS, they aired an episode called "Cracked", where Abby gets obsessed with a certain victim who has a resemblance to her (she's also a genius scientist, and she wrote cchemical formulas all over her body and stuff), and this episode hinted at Abby possibly having "issues", more specifically Asperger's or some form of HFA.

As much as I'm her fan, I just thought she was quirky and eccentric. But now, after seeing the episode, I started analyzing the character and found that she may fit the criteria of AS in women. I don't know what others may think about this, but if they thread carefully and do proper research, we could have a loveable and interesting portrayal of a woman with AS on TV.

Oh, and in the book, "Dreams Underfoot", by Charles de Lint, I think there is a person with Asperger's in the book, but I can't really say if it's true or not. Anyway, he is highly interested in music, and he sounds very warm when he sings, but when he has to talk to people, he's highly reserved and can't really get close...I'm sorry if that sounds like a stereotype...the book did say he had xenophobia, though, so I can't really say anything.

De Lint is one of my favorite authors. I like that so many of his stories and novels have the power of music as one of the main themes, and that so many of his protagonists are people feared or dismissed by the "normal" world. I had the chance to meet him in Austin years ago. I'm going to re-read Dreams Underfoot to find that story.

I kind of like that about his fictions, as it is boring to read about someone normal. :)

Dr. Temperance Brennan and Dr. Zach Addy from Bones have both been confirmed by the show's creator to be based on people with AS, but they said that they are not going to come out and say it. Ever since my diagnosis, the show Bones has helped my wife and I connect on AS, as I'm a lot like Bones.

I've wondered if Jeffery Deaver's character Lincoln Rhyme has AS, also Sherlock Holmes or Dr. Gregory House. All three men show an astounding intellect and the ability to connect facts in unorthodox ways as well as social difficulties.
