To gain interest, one must first be interesting. Autscape is a noble experiment, but it is (apparently) not interesting enough to attract people that can (1) motivate and guide others to achieving their personal goals; and (2) provide a forum for people to present interesting content of their own.
Autscape and Autreat attract people that (1) and (2).
They just don't attract *enough* of them.

I am trying to give a suggestion, which is "Be Interesting". What interests the aggregate Aspie? What interests the people around them? Determining the interests of your target audience is called "Market Research". Letting them know that you have what they want is called "Advertisement". Providing it is part of both "Production" and "Sales".
Both Autscape and Autreat do all of the above within their own mailing lists (Autscape Chat, Autreat Information, etc.)
I think they don't do enough of it outside of their mailing lists. (such as on Wrongplanet.net, AspiesForFreedom.com etc.)

Not enough?

How do you propose to change that?

No, i'm tired of getting beat up for my good ideas. Make up your own dead poets society.

You know this kind of thing is brought up with extreme regularity, and it never takes off. I think the reason it doesn't is pretty simple.

Aspies in general tend to dislike herd mentality. We are far too individualistic, and tend to disagree on too much to make any movement work for all of us. I for one, think that is one of the real beauties of Asperger Syndrome.

We make the best sticks in the mud ever! :P

They come up regularly because there is a need for them.

All movements take time, and I think it's obvious were not talking about just one movement, were talking about multiple movements.

It does take years for this stuff to happen but there is a need.

I like the whole selfish perspective, but the fact is if were to have a future in society we need to be organized our survival is dependent on it.

Were facing an oncoming storm where autistic monies will be shrinking, at the same time the autism awareness is ever growing. With an increasing demand, and lack of money, were gonna need to be organized.

We need to be focusing on how we can assist other autistics.

We need to develop cultures that works with us.

We need to solve our underemployment problems.

We need to be able to sort people's need's.

We need better access to education.

I think considering our needs and our abilities it's extremely likely that a real powerful movement will exist in the future, there's simply too many of us.

It's a question of when, civil rights, woman's rights, gay rights, etc took 100's of years to develop.

We must follow in a much faster time frame.

Granted some aspies don't have an interest in being organized, but you have no choice to survive in the modern world.
