Truth or no, you tried to take it away from the original topic... make a new thread... discuss your "truth" there...

Adding to this older thread that a group is starting a software project for housing the autistic rights movement, and this other thread has some details:

I know I could get into trouble for this, even by the moderators, but I can not stand the autistic "rights" movement. I want nothing to do with it, period. Autism is a disorder. Let's celebrate the people, not the disability. Another thing I dislike is that the autistic "rights" movement opposes ABA, which was crucial in giving me the ability to talk or post messages like this. Of course, I might even get this thread locked for expressing another opinion or, as I said, get in more trouble because disagreeing with the autistic "rights" movement, like disagreeing with other politically correct left-wing Fascist movements, seems to be a big no no.

Being a high-functioning autistic, I can see a need for autistic and disability rights movements. Trying to cure me of being autistic is like trying to cure me of having blue eyes -- it can't be done. I don't want to be cured.

However, I was recently reading about some severely autistic people who had to be put into institutions because they are not able to function independently and their parents can't handle them any longer. My autism-wise therapist explained to me that some autistic people are also developmentally disabled (ret*d). I don't think that these people can be cured any more than I can be cured. But some measures can be done to make them more comfortable and less vulnerable to abuse.

The autism "experts" almost always talk about "autistic children." They don't talk very much about autistic adults unless the autistic adults have adjusted and have disappeared into NT society and thus aren't so noticeable. That needs to change.
