No I respect the christian religon I just dont think politics and religion should meet ever I dont think democrats should rally at churchs what I am saying that as a athiest I dont think its right for the president to make decisons that effect the country based on his religion how would you feel if somebody forced their belifes on you. I belive in the constition and people like bush and the republican are trying to desolve the constitution. Thats what I am trying to say I dont want religious people trying to dictate my life or save my soul what if I dont want to saved. From what I've seen in life if their's agod well he has a sick sense of humor. I will explain it to conservitives who want our country to be ahead of others if we teach our children intelligent design we gonna be behind other countries in science we are behind because we have moral eagles in washintong holding scientists back where goverments with no moral structure like the people republic of china are ahead of us. I not saying to not have morals but you can make advances in science and still uphold morals. Yes I support gay marriage and abortion to an extent. What did a gay people do that people belive they have no right to find happiness and get married it does not destroy the sanctity of marriage because that would only be destroyed if people tried to marry their dog and I support abortion for the fact that what if a women gets raped and got pregnant should she have to raise or go through the pain of pregnecy for a rapist baby I dont think it should be avalible to teen pregency because they should have to pay the consequences for playing dangerously. So no I dont belive in rampant aboration where women will get the just for the sake they dont want a baby unlike most of you people think athiests can have moral belifes and not beliving in rampant adultry or other things I have moral and values I just dont want too force them on people thats my opinion and I am not force it on anyone and respect everyones belife I just dont belive in intelligent design because I dont want a priest teaching me science as much as you would want a scientist preaching at your church or place of worship because I know an intelligent being did not design me.

Maxrebo, from your last post it looks like you were venting a bit with the post that I responded to. That is something I understand well. If you read my previous posts in this thread you will see that I am Atheist as well. I don't buy intelligent design anymore than you do. I am not posting with any illusions of changing your mind about gay marriage or abortion. I disagree with you on these but I know we won't change each others minds on it. The First Amendment says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of Religion, or prohibiting the free exercise therof;", the rest has to do with speech, press, assembly and redress of grievances. What I see there is that no state sponsored church like The Church of England shall be established, and that people shall not be limited as to how they can manifest religion in their lives. So just like you are free to exercise your own worldview with respect to your free speech, including politics, so can the religious people among us put forth their worldview. This is probably how I should have responded in the first place. I appreciate that you agree that politicking in a Church is tacky. I don't believe it is possible to keep a persons religious beliefs out of their politics unless they make that decision, without destroying the 1st Amendment. You will just have to try to counteract the Christians that you disagree with at the ballot box, and with letters and calls to your elected officials when you are old enough to do so.

Or grow real skin for accident or burn victims or allow paralyzed people to walk again. There so my advances we could have made and still have ethics like no human testing and other issues. Yeah your right I've been known to rant maybe its my aspergers or my passion for polticts yet I hate politcians.I wouldn't mind being ruled by a benovelent AI because people are easily corrupted esspically in rhode island I dont think one politican in this state is honest even johnny cockren called rhode island the most corrupt state in union. I would argue most of us aren't religious. In fact if there was this apparent "God" that's a nice person and all he wouldn't have done it in the first place. Then again, looking at the bible God is a real as*hole so there's a good chance he probably did it out of entertainment, right?

I thought that I was Agnostic. But I just went to the dictionary and it describes what I would call Atheist. So much for labels.

Let me put it this way in what I believe in (or rather do not believe in): I do not know if God "is", because I have no proof of such. But, I believe in the *possibility* of there being a God.

As a teenager I was a Christian and very involved in a Baptist Church. I am now very anti-christian.

I only hope that if there IS a god, that it isn't the God that is described in the Bible. What a horribly selfish, angry, jealous, murdering, irrational, insane, petty, BIG BABY of a god.
