Does Temple Grandin sound angry to you?

Temple was interviewed (3 times total) by Autism Women's Network on BlogTalkRadio...

she said Claire Danes didn't just act but became her. So, then I'd suspect that she did indeed portray how Temple talked back then

I personaly can't stand her anymore. I am ALWAYS being compared to her. It's so annoying. I had to stop taking riding lessons because my as*hole riding instructor who was also a phycologist compared me relgiously to her. If Temple did one thing, I should. Ever since she saw the movie, my mother is comparing me to her. My father is saying so was smart in science but yet thinks I'm stupid because I wish to be a vet. My mom says she was just lucky and was good at science and math. WTF? It said in the movie she sucked at math and if she's so good at it why am I so bad since I am supposedly her clone? Temple this, Temple that. It's as if she is the goodie-two-shows older golden child I'm always being told to be like. Arrgh! SO annoying and frustrating.

Oh that has to be so frustrating!! Especially since the movie did NOT touch on any aspects of Temple's life that was... less than pleasing in a way to show a parent's frustration in dealing with her, it's unfair comparison!

All one sees *is* Temple's good side. Since she's human, she has to have a downside and your parents are foolish to think otherwise. No one is perfect except God, if He exists.

I grew up being compared to my siblings, too by my father. It wasn't pleasant trying to live up to those standards. But thankfully I had my mom to point it out to him when he'd do it. I'm good enough just being myself

Precisely. I agree. For me, I see it that many of us are quite matter of fact and blunt at times. I am VERY blunt at times and honest and that is just how it is.
I have never sensed any anger in temple grandin and I have watched her a lot on vids.
I see her as direct, typically autistic, with a tonal inflection and/or lack thereof and a slightly 'odd" manner that fits perfectly within the spectrum.

I wish there were more people who were that blunt and more people who were able to be that direct. I also wish there were more people who did not take offence at my own bluntness and my own directness. The world would make a lot more sense to me if that were the case.

I don't think Temple Grandin sounds angry, and like Millie, I too have watched several of her videos. To me she is just eager to spread her message and make it understood by her audiences. She is very driven by her mission to promote humane livestock handling and autism advocacy.
