My grandmother was in Auschwitz, and they're probably the only group that I can full-heartedly compare to the Nazis. Sorry if sound exaggerated, that's how I react when people tell me my genes are "dirty" and my parents should have aborted me, because I'm a second-class human being.

If they claim otherwise - why don't they apologise?

I didn't vote---not because I don't have an opinion---because I am anti-Autism Speaks. But I found the one choice a bit harsh---sorry, I do take things literally. I just ignore them as much as possible. I have as lately been speaking my voice against them, but I usually have not thought about them much. I find it is often quite beneficial to promote our voice and ignore them. It seems like they ignore us---they don't listen to our voice do they?

The only jeans I would ever describe as dirty are articles of clothing. :P

8O So... wait... genocide > a group being able to speak for themselves? How does that work? Here I thought that being able to speak for oneself and decide what's in one's own best interest was a fundamental right that comes with being human, no matter what one's neurotype is.

what "genocide"?

Genocide is defined as wiping out a whole group of people. Autism Speaks fund prenatal testing, which will stop us from being born, and therefore wipe us out from the world eventually (once all the autistic people born before this neo-Nazi prenatal test was develped die).

That genocide.

I believe most of us agree that Autism Speaks does not listen to our autistic voices. Will they listen in the future? Probably not. But yet they can't help but hear us. But they will not allow our voices to be heard through their organization. What we must do is promote our own advocacy. Why argue with them? Are we wanting to speak through them? I find the notion of prenatal testing to eliminate autism as horrible. We must let our voice of autism be heard on our own. Those of us that want to do this must do this in a peaceful way---nonviolent politics. We must speak for what autism is, and what it is not. I have already started. I began over a year ago. For example, within my music ministry, I deliver pieces of information about autism. People do listen. People ask me questions and realize that autism is not a horrible disease like some organizations lead the world to believe. Autism can be a gift. What can you do?

I've heard of this organization and before I joined WP I always thought of them as just some organization that wants to help autistic people.
But I am such a dumb@$$, I am very wrong about this. It seems that they are actually an enemy and a disgrace. This organization makes me sick, it's about time for that organization to be brought down or changed to actually help instead of destroy. Their name is very misleading which, at first sight, you'd think they'd donate money to help autistic sufferers. I mean come on, it might as well be "Destroy autism" instead of "Autism Speaks"

Even if you do support a cure for autism, you would probably agree that cancer, AIDS, Alzheimer's, and several other conditions deserve to be cured first. Yet Autism Speaks keeps asking for money to support curing a condition that many people don't want to be cured of. Therefore I don't think anyone, whether they support a cure or not, should support Autism Speaks.

I also had no clue that they were as classless and biased as they were till I saw that video! I'm a health care provider and I didn't know. I don't mind that they want to find a "cure"...for those who want it. I just don't like all the negativity and dire predictions. I also don't like that there are no people with autism running the organization. I also have epilepsy and I have been involved in the medical advisory boards of local epilepsy foundations. THAT makes sense to me.
