I'm an armchair commie (I vote Liberal Democrat for all the good it does, no way am I going to vote for the bad joke that Labour have become). I found some of the coverage of the recent American elections hilarious seeing some people using "socialism" and "socialist" as if they were deadly insults or some terrible disease that was going to drag them down to the underworld. :D

Nice avatar, Ambivalence. You do realize that most Commies and Socialists reject Sovietism, right? They had a cool national anthem, but other than that the Soviets pretty much sucked at life. America has a long history of pro-capitalist thought (we were founded on the ideals of classical liberalism, after all) and along with that goes a dislike of Socialism for the perceived violations of private property rights and other liberties. Still, most of the "socialist" accusations thrown around in the US are somewhat exaggerated.

See i dont even know what any of these words mean. That why i was diagnosed with just mild autism and not AS because I am not smart enough to be an aspie. :(
I am smart enough to be High Functioning Autistic though :D
Actually, I think i am borderline autistic.
I have borderline personality and I have borderline autism.

I never guessed that commenting on the political compass test would incite such debate. I think that the left & ring wing model has had its day, the two axis model seems to work better.

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.

Conseral or Liberative? topic

Depends on the issue. i examine each one and parts thereof and decide this way. I distrust joining my opposites to protest someone or something else. Thus I am against opportunistic coalitions. :P

I don't believe that knowledge of politics has anything to do with intelligence. Correct me if I am wrong but I think the difference between Kanner autism and and Asperger's is a matter of verbal skills and perhaps severity more than intelligence.

Many people with AS love to go on about the superior inteligence of AS over other people but I would ignore them.

This is a bit of a false dichotomy, and it's too American-based. What about Anarchists, Libertarians, Royalists, Socialists, Theocrats, Nationalists etc?

I don't think this poll can really determine the political affiliation of aspies because this board itself if leaned towards liberal ideas such as autism acceptance and not curing. If you were more right-wing socially (as opposed to fiscally) you would probably hate yourself and want a cure and so not join this website. I think finding out you have a disability or are gay or something makes you more liberal because you realise what it's like for those who get the sh***y end of the societal stick when before you were pretty much at the top as a middle-class white man, which most of the people on here are.

I'm a Socialist.
So, I went with liberal. Funny though liberal once in my country was a dirty word, because a conservative party called themselves The Liberal Party. There was nothing liberal about them.

No, they didn't. The Soviet Union as an institution was tyrannically murderous, scientifically tainted, culturally restrictive and environmentally catastrophic, but it was not a failure, and people under the Soviets were pretty much the same mix as people everywhere.

I think living conservatively and being politically conservative are two different things. I like sameness in my life, but on the other hand I like logic, and ever since the Republicans got taken over by religious nutjobs they haven't been logical, because forcing others to conform to your limited morals is the antithesis of logic. I believe in equal rights, equal shots at opportunities, protecting the environment...and just because I like things being left where I put them doesn't mean anything about politics.

The whole thing with logic is that it is self limiting..? Godel, turing etc.

They'll either be very conservative or very progressive.

I'm conservative, but that's because it seems like all the liberals have gone crazy.

I'm liberal-ish in that I want diversity rights, but thats about it.
