We aren't saying all NT's are responsible. I know a lot of NT's who couldn't give a s**t one way or the other if someone was Aspie, but for every one of these kind, understanding people, there are three or more prejudiced, bigoted idiots who propagate this BS, like Mr. Reed for example. It's people like Mr. Reed that claim that they're an expert in a field they know jack s**t about (in this case, autism) that give the rest of these kind and caring but neurotypical people a bad name.
I for one discriminate against the idiots like Mr. Reed, but I don't think all NT's are idiots. That's the difference between selective prejudice and stereotyping.
