[As for me, my beliefs would make me Christian, Mormon- specifically. I've implemented a lot of Buddhism into my life as well. Mine's with God.

Amen brother. I feel the same way, esp. about blending elements of other traditions into my own. I consider myself Catholic, since I was baptized and initiated into that tradition. Now I attend a Baptist church albeit one that's progressive and de-emphasizes the importance of individual denomination and the differences of nuance within Christianity as a whole.

Yet I don't see why one's attitude towards God and science must be like oil & water. I believe in both, but not that one must be made to trump the other. God contains science just as science reflects the nature of God. Anyone who makes a big fuss of choosing science over religion ... does not realize they have just traded one almighty for another. To worship the infallibility of science is no different than worshipping an unseen Creator or the man on the cross.

I still live my life as a Christian, except for the god part

????

How can you live as a Christian without the God part? A Christian is defined by his/her belief in a supernatural creator.

And don't try to tell me I'm wrong!

Why do you believe this? I am not being critical; I'm just curious.

Of course, one might ask why scripture has any claim to veracity whatsoever. If one were rude.

I believe in God, I've heard a ton of arguments and supports of both ways and i'm not one to be biased, and from what i know, the evidence really does lean for God, but I really don't want to get into that discussion

I also believe that everything can be explained by natural laws and science, because that's just how God rolls.

Daoism is a Chinese philosophy that bridges the gap between science and religion for me,
I think having AS made me a concientious objector when it came to the rat race,
this has allowed me time to be more interested in non-materialistic matters such as philosophy, shamanism and the nature of reality.

Here's my advice:

Don't despair. Others will find fault with you, one way or another. I am Christian but I try to remain humble. Succumbing to Pride, that is a constant danger for everyone regardless of belief.

If you are arrogant & obnoxious about your beliefs, whatever they may be, you invite not just hazings but the enmity of your fellow men. Keep it real, and never walk the walk without talking the talk. :thumleft:

I used to be a Roman Catholic but I didn't like some of the bizarre 'rules'. Also stopped beliving in God after going through my Granny's death, 4 years of non-stop bullying and 8 years of abuse from my father.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles, friend. For what it's worth, God never promised us a perfect life or a perfect world. A lot of folks who go through tragedy and loss end up with a stronger faith in God.

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?"

Seeing Teoka had the last post I had to look, and you didn't disappoint me Teoka. :) My own view is atheist.
Isaiah 45:7 I make peace, and create evil. I the Lord do all these things.
I suppose if a person has an attention whore personality, and had no scruples about where their money came from, then getting a TV show like the 700 Club makes a lot of sense. One can then save lots of souls, be admired by generous contributors and make a great living. There is no down side.

That is one of my favorite quotes.
