I put this under 'Media Representation' because YouTube is a form of media. Only the representation isn't just of Autism--- it's of WrongPlanet.

Old news. The quotes are out of context. He didn't show the post where I put in a lot of effort to try to help someone because that's what's right. He didn't show the posts where I've been helped and sympathized with. Most importantly to the posts he quoted, he didn't show the OP, which might well have been an example of extreme brutality against autistics. For instance, we have people who've suggested acts of terrorism, but as these are all in response to autistic children and teens (among others) being given electric shocks and denied food, I'm inclined to be understanding, though I disagree that two wrongs would make a right.

I left my two cents on the page because I liked how he urged people not to generalize people with autism by looking at WrongPlanet, yet he generalized everyone on WrongPlanet from a few out of context posts he found.

Someone should create a video that showcases those kinds of posts.

Like you said, all COMPLETELY out of context. Outrage over such acts of brutality is to be expected. So is outrage over bullying due to being on the spectrum.

Yes--very few. Most people here are NOT "Aspergian supremacists" or whatever nonsensical term the video used. In fact, I've seen many posts in response to those (very few) who have even hinted at such a thing saying how WRONG that is! Pity the maker of this video overlooked those particular posts.

I was a lurker here for over a year before I decided to join. If I saw this place as a hate site, I would have run in the other direction. WP is a very good community.
