Many psychologists, especially those who are sympathetic with "the system" do not want to accept that there is a silent epidemic of violence and discrimination against autistic people as the centerpiece of American culture is that anyone who seems different is inferior. Those of you who were institutionalized when you were growing up know that violence and sexual exploitation is a part of life. If you try to complain about it no one listens. If, after you grow up you report such hate crimes to the wrong psychiatrist or psychologist, even if you can show the bullet holes from a drive by shooting of your home you will be dismissed as having paranoid tendensies and accused of personality disorders such as narcissism with a statement that all autistic people are narcissistic because in their insensitivity to social conventions they fail to identify with the needs and feelings of the neighbors who tried torun you out of the neighborhood for being too "weird".
This results in discrimination which I think is a form of racism against autistic people.
I think I have a duty to report the kinds of things that are similar to what the Catholic Church is in trouble for even though the system of institutions for autistic children will not like being exposed for such things. I do not know how to do it. I want to do it because I think it is my duty to the human rase to do it. I do not seek any sympathy for myself, I only want to make it harder for society to treat those who are different in a way that I think is evil. ais there a place to report such things?

I don't know any agencies that will take on a campaign for things that are hard to prove. All other social groups that have rallied for equal treatment or representation, did it themselves.

There are plenty of places to report such things: Disability Rights Organizations, The ACLU, State Representatives, Congressmen, so-called advocates of every stripe and hue...

 BUT NOT A SINGLE G*DDAMN*D ONE OF THEM WILL EVER RAISE A LAZY FINGER TO ACTUALLY DO ANYTHING.

Save yourself years of headaches and disappointment. Give up now.

t sounds like really important work you're doing.

definately give it a try - but be aware it might be hard work and take a long time to get things to change.

It might be worth researching ways in which other marginalised groups have highlighted similar abuses and what has worked or not to raise awareness and even change things-

for example "citizens commission on human rights" (google it) campaigns about abuses in the mental health system
or try stuff about abuses to people seeking asylum etc.
or the way groups like 'voices of the faithful' (who highlighted abuse by catholic priests )- have used connections online to show it the extent of the problem which makes it harder to write off as just occasional disconnected occurances - which makes it harder to hush up
Or the campaigns leading to recent hate crime laws to protect gay people in the US.

Good luck with it anyway.
