Remember the "homeless hacker" who was recently diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome after being taken to an asylum by the police for his speech patterns? Well, he ratted out the person who said that he sent the videos of massacres to Wikileaks, including the ghastly Collatoral Murder one. This is terrible news. People will think we are all dirty rats and are helping kill innocent people by the thousands as he is doing.

We need to get more positives out. We need to show them the truth.

So far there's no mention of his condition - in fact, the story of Bradley Manning has barely been covered at all. That the Pentagon is hunting down the owner of Wikileaks for murder or disappearance may have something to do with it.

I am very angry at Lamo for doing this. Had he bothered to watch the video, and decided to rat out Manning, then I'd seriously question his moral compass. I'd like to think at the very least that he didn't see the horrible things that were being suppressed that Manning helped bring to light.

I'd like to think he was closely watched by the feds and didn't do this of his own volition though he claims that he did.

Lamo says that he feared that his family would be attacked if he didn't give away the information, that the feds would find out about his knowledge and conduct reprisals against his family.

"At the moment he gave me the information, it was basically a suicide pact."

"I was worried for my family - that if I were obstructing justice that they could be caught up in any investigation," he said.

"I wanted to do this one by the book, by the numbers. I didn't want any more FBI agents knocking at the door."

When you see the brutality of the Collatoral Murder video, you see the kind of evil involved, I can understand his fear.

BBC report on this...

According to Wired, Manning contacted Lamo after seeing that recent interview, claimed to feel him to be a "kindred spirit". Could Manning have Asperger Syndrome perhaps?

In the end, we're talking about a brutal regime, a brutal empire that will stop at nothing to maintain power.

"I want to be proud of it but I can't bring myself to be. I keep thinking about what it was like being 22, alone and not knowing about my future," said Mr Lamo.

"Knowing that I did that to somebody - it hurts. I feel like I should be talking to a priest."

He said he had been placed in a situation where "an impossible decision had to be made".

"I hope that Manning gets the same chance as I did - the same chance to take his punishment as I did and start a new life as I did."

"I like to think I prevented him from getting into more serious trouble."

I don't understand.
Adrian Lamo makes Aspies look prone to genocide?

Well, one silly columnist described it as "Snitch Syndrome" and told the usual lie about the "lack of empathy" meaning not feeling for other people at all... so I suppose that he thinks that we are all predisposed to genocide!
