School restraint bill passed in Louisiana
"Some parents and others are angry that the Legislature, with Gov. Bobby Jindal’s blessing, approved a bill that critics say gives public schools nearly unchecked power to use physical restraints on autistic and other children."

Also worth note in Louisiana today, family values advocate Senator Vitter, who was caught up in an unfortunate brothel scandal a few years ago, had the aide who handles "women's issues" resign because it became public that the aide had been arrested for stabbing his ex-girlfriend a few years ago, in addition to a drunk driving charge. Louisiana takes family values seriously!

It sounds to me lie Jindal is one of the millions of people that are not adequately educated on the matter rather than having some sort of agenda against stopping the abuse of restraint and seclusion. Handling school-related issues at a local level is a very common conservative concept and if he understood what went on with the use of restraint and seclusion that he would have handled that separately.

Who gets sued? If the State passes regulations, they do, if the Districts have to, they get sued.
Around here, this is the safer mode. A local trial will have much more effect.
