I just got through watching an episode of Flashpoint where a guy causes an accident and unwittingly leads police to a motel where a troubled young man is holed up. As they discover more about him and reveal clues, I blurt out that he has Asperger's. The complicating factor was that he was displaying psychopathic tendencies from stalking young women to harm them because they look like the sister who rejected him when they got older. But I realized that it wasn't typical.
The even went so far as to have his character trying to study "human emotion" with the face recognition emotional cues (anger, excitement, happiness, etc.). Later in the show, it turned out that I was right! But that is only because they made it, like, SO obvious...PLUS the fact that WrongPlanet has been a wonderful learning experience!
I kinda' didn't like it because it projected people with AS as potentially violent from being confused or frustrated with their environment and having to deal with people who don't understand what it means to have the condition.
Did anybody else see it?
