Um...wow. I honestly dont know what to say. But I'm thinking they must seriously have Asperger's and Rain Man confused with one another.

I mean I dont recall having every waking moment of conversation with my peers being about useless facts as a child. And when I get upset about something like a missing puzzle piece, my meltdowns dont consist of rocking back and forth. Rocking back and forth is what I do when I watch TV. I will get upset like a typical young kid would like scream and cry.

I was more of a "all people intimidate me and I want them to go away and not talk to me" type of aspie. I think the writers were too nervous to portray any negative aspects of AS but I think it would be more interesting if George was presenting all of these very anti-social behaviors that upsetted other people. I liked the fantasy sequence though.

I praise PBS for at least taking an effort to educate kids about AS, but I think the character is too quiet. I think Buster and D.W. seem more ASish than Carl does. Carl just seems quite shy. D.W.'s obsession with Mary Moo Cow and her snowball aren't normal anthro ardvark girl things. Perhaps if the eppisode consisted of D.W. being diagnosed with AS and then Arthur becoming more understanding of her and nicer to her I would be happy. Carl isn't in any other eppiosdes and is a forgetable character.

I like the fact that they're trying to educate kids about AS.
