Equality. Not like in HARRISON BERGERON, mind you. 8O

Notions of "superiority" only lead to trouble, IMO.

Don't want to be associated with any of those, and in a recent thread I specifically used the X-Men as an analogy to ridicule the supremacist ideology. Forget the extremist movements.

Anyone who believes in aspie superiority has their own issues to sort out. Aspies are definitely different in the way they think, but not superior. In general, I think that the typical NT makes a good businessman or schoolteacher, but the typical aspie makes a good scientist or engineer. Of course, these are huge generalizations and I certainly know both aspies and NTs that can fill either position.

Genius is not necessarily a recipe for success. Many people with a so called "below normal IQ" keep smiling long after those with genius suffer at the hands of their "knowledge". And wisdom, also, is not necessarily associated with Genius. Finally, it takes a loss of intelligence for some to come to understand this.

I think it is called harsh enlightenment.

A wise man once said do not pull my finger for you know the consequences. Someone that does not know better often smiles and laughs at the results. Others refuse to because at times they wish they had a better joke while others don't find humor in it less the setting is inappropriate.

Intelligence can be self-diluting.

Depending on whose finger one pulls. I guess that could also be considered harsh enlightenment.

Even though they would wipe us out if they coud using genetic screening and the aborting of autistic fetuses I would like to be treated the way they would like to be treated.

Well-said.

Equality. At times when I've been angry I've entertained the thought that maybe we have an evolutionary advantage and we'll outbreed them someday, but thinking like that doesn't help me or anyone. Even if we are "superior" by any strained definition of the word, that doesn't mean we should be dicks to NTs, that'd be just as bad as how some of them treat us.

I think just how low or high functioning you are can make a big difference. According to tests, I'm only about half aspie, which gives me the benefits of both aspie and NT traits. I'm a mutt, if you will, and mutts have always been the best, genetically. I can understand both aspie and NT worlds, and take the best from both. So, in this instance, yes, being an aspie is superior.

I really hate the whole "Aspies are superior to NT's" thing. There a number of Aspies who fail at relationships, jobs, and have other problems that they deal with. I really don't see how we are better than everyone else. You can be better at some things than some NTs, but as whole, you are not superior to others.

Unless they work for you, then you can probably call them your inferiors. :)

Aspies are not generalizable, the whole question is stupid. There is inequality, some people are superior to others, but no one is self-sufficient. The richest person on earth still depends a lot on other people whether they realize it or not. That is the beauty of specialization. No one person can be everything there is just too much stuff to learn.
