An episode that involves Cartman faking "Ass Burgers" is the new episode in South Park that is airing in five minutes. Seems interesting.

Can't wait!
They've made fun of every other Don't-Go-There,
but never Autism.

Was beginning to develop a complex. :(

Well, I watched the episode...and I was extremely disappointed.
The episode mentions Asperger's and vaccines for about the first seven minutes, then it delves into some recycled jokes about the Matrix and fast food moguls, terrible episode.

I'm really tired of "ass burgers".

I once wrote "asperger" on a paper and asked a German man how this surname would be pronounced in his language. It was more like "ospercare".

Or it might be pronounced "asperdjers", and it would be the same as a proper English word for somebody who sprinkles water on people.

Hi,

I don't get it. Why do they pick that theme? I'm from Germany, and yeah, we pronounce it very different (it'll get funny when they want to translate this one). I didn't get the whole thing at first, since I saw it written ... 'Asperger-Syndrom'. (Actually, if you don't know how it's pronounced in German, you can look it up at dict.cc, they have spoken translations integrated)

Is this an actual reference in the US or something? Only thing I could find on google when I type 'ass burgers' are idiots making fun of autists, references to South Park and something about 'internet dorks' false-diagnosing themselves.

that is indeed most likely the joke.
as far as i know, ass-burger is the commonly agreed on name (by douches mostly) for people that fake aspergers as either an excuse for rudeness or to get some kind of benefit in schools.

and i dont think it'll be funny when translated, as i doubt this mixup can happen in any other language

In English the German version souds like "UHSSpairGAIR seenDROHM. --Try saying this by either swallowing, or pronouncing the "R's" in all of the words in the back of your throat.

That being said, I thought the episode was funny but not their best.

It wasn't that good, I wish it went more like the Tourette's episode (one of my favs)

Yeah, I was expecting more like that Tourette's episode. This one was kinda lame.

I did find it hilariously ironic I have a bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey in the fridge right now which only recently got smashed on but with Irish Car Bombs. That and Stan bursting through the window shooting everything up. That was about as amusing as it got for me.

I think it was a good thing that they didn't focus the whole episode on Asperger's. That would've been beating a dead horse as they have done in the past (literally and metaphorically). Plus this episode was supposed to be a continuation of the midseason finale from a few months ago, so they had to get their point across quickly and efficiently to cover the rest of their bases.

As for the pronunciation of the term, I always referred to it as "Osperger's". I like using the pronunciation associated with the term's origin.

Well that is why I never liked this show, I feel that Anonymous was the one who sparked this episode probably.
