Dagbladet ( a norwegian newspaper) did publish an article 25. january 2012, that was named
" Anders Behring Breivik should be evaluated for Abergers syndrome".
In the article they made a unfortunate connection between Asperger's syndrome and mass murderes.

There is NO evidence in research studies that people with autism spectrum diagnoses performs more crime than others.

Dagbladets connection between Asperger syndrome and serious crime is stigmatizing and damaging for those diagnosed and their families.

Dagbladet printed a official appology 28. februar 2012.

The online version of that article is here, its in Norwegian so use google translate.

i ran it through Google Translate and saw this tidbit:

Quote:
Asperger Syndrome is a very broad diagnosis and it is important to emphasize that the vast majority of this diagnosis is completely harmless. But it can become dangerous when people with this diagnosis are extreme special interests that are not good. They often have a strange logic in what they do, which can be difficult for others to understand. They often experience obsessions, revenge and feels violated. Diagnosis borders on the psychotic, he said.

there is a bit of a disclaimer but it was pretty damning to put AS next to psychosis. 8O

i do think that sometimes aspies can be violent and there is some evidence that criminal activity including violence may be more prevalent among peopple with AS than in the general population but the studes are not conclusive:

Quote:
Preliminary findings indicate that hfASDs are over-represented in criminal populations relative to their prevalence in the general population. However, more comprehensive studies are needed to confirm these findings.
