I had a discussion with a friend at school. the best buddies program had a campaign against the R word. they say people are uneducated. I hear plenty of people still saying it in the halls. maybe even more people. they know that because there are people pissed off by the word that it carries more weight. so ironically, "education" against something can turn people to it because it becomes interesting and meaningful. Idk how you would solve the bullying problem though. like i can see that our current system sucks but not much will make it better. but yeah i think this concept can be applied to a lot of movements and why things fail in public representation.

There are always going to be bullies out there. You can sometimes change the minds of some of them with education, but not the hard core bullies. I don't know of any method of curing those hard cases. And yeah, they are a pain to deal with. Some people just don't want to make nice and there is nothing you can do to change that.

You have to have an effective deterrent for bullying. It's not enough to give a child or teenager a verbal reprimand(lip service) or suspension( simply a holiday from school to some).

You have to educate and reinforce certain principles through the equivalent of work; volunteerism supervised for a meaningful cause.

Would you change every heart ? Nope.

Would you reach some hearts as well as deter some people from participating in bullying ?

Yes. I believe so.
