Crowdfunding- Pages, causes and Support for creating causes

I wanted to start a thread about crowdfunding, the best sites, the best approach, creating causes and support for creating causes.

I feel like crowdfunding is the next thing because it surpasses the major donation organizations where people can't be sure if the donations end up where they should be and many new, different and creative causes. Especially for the individuals on the spectrum this can be a cool new thing.

I recently put my cause online on gofundme.
It took me about 3 months to get this text together, I am not good with expressing how I feel or let alone experience my chronic sickness. Luckily, with the help of some wonderful people from the wrongplanet chat I finished the text and they helped me with the grammar, syntax and style.

What are your experiences with crowdfunding? Are you planning to start a cause?
