this isn't for people with kanner's, although we don't discriminate against them, but this is for people already diagnosed with aspergers

just wondering if Kanners is a highly developed part of the spectrum or not as PDDNOS is.

seems like there is a fine line after all like mutedness, which affected me a lot as a youngster.

Found this which seemed to suggest co-ordination and verbal account

whereas this one just appeared up out of the blue

Here is the issue that I have... "We aspies/PDD-NOSs' got to tell the public wrong, because we aren't like classic autism."

The underlying mechanisms and functionality are much more like "Classic Autism" than most people realize. That is why Asperger's is classified as an Autism Spectrum Disorder...

While we are all entitled to our opinion, your statement runs counter to
a) anecdotal evidence from all forms of Autistic Spectrum Individuals (aspies included)
b) behavioral models that have proven to be substantial and accurate
c) possible genetic markers that are being discovered
d) symptomology
e) active MRI scans of the brains of Autistic Spectrum Individuals (aspies included)
f) The DEFINITIONS of Autism and Asperger's Syndrome

and lastly

g) My own experiences.

I write a blog about Asperger's and Autistic Spectrum Disorders. I have received feedback from the parents of Autists, the parents of Aspies, Autists and Aspies... To date (out of 17,599 views in the last four months and 500 emails), the only disagreement that has been implied, or directly stated were to my approach to Aspies and Hypersexuality and the assertion that Autism IS a disease...

Considering the nature of the internet, it is far more likely that if one is perceived to be incorrect in their words, it is far more likely that one will receive hate mail, or at least corrective commentary than thank you mail and praise...

As such, until hard data emerges that shows a different functioning on the cellular and neurological level, I will continue under the understanding that it is an autism spectrum disorder...

You are free to disagree, but when opinions differ from data, they are just that... opinions.
