So it seems that a Langley, BC Harley Davidson dealer is having a motorbike rally and live rockband to "raise awareness" and funds for Autism Speaks Canada...

Am I being over-sensitive, or is this deeply offensive to others here too?

This offends me very much. I'm not broken, I don't need to be fixed and Autism Speaks will never speak for me.

*tongue firmly planted in cheek*

It has nothing to do with you. It's all about kids and their parents and the horror known as Autism. (TM)

Adults Aspies are so not on their radar screen, it isn't worth the the stress getting upset.

Any vids on *how tough it is, such a strain on our family, and hoping for a cure" on the site?

Too lazy to click on the link.

Only word for it is Blergh!

How does it feel being the major element in your family's stress? (sarcasm)

(I just asked Fior this. He's giving me the finger and tossed a empty soda can at me-he knows I'm being an ass. Asked if I need a round of ECT. Lol...)

I wrote on their page that I'm autistic and I'm happy to be alive.

It would figure that the HOGs and Autism Speaks would be in bed with each other.
It was Harley management that decided to eliminate the deer population around their SoftTail plant here in York, PA a few years ago, despite the outcry from the public. However, there is a massive deer overpopulation problem in this part of the state, and with US 30 running past the plant, and the reduction of their environment, no thanks to the explosive housing boom around here over the last 40 years, the deer ended up losing out.

Since corporate in Milwaukee could care less about the environment (and I don't care if Tom Peters, the author of "In Search of Excellence", considers Harley Management to be enlightened), they are still a bunch of cheeseheads for even thinking about teaming up with Autism Speaks.

n.b. HOG --Harley Owners Group.

we have somethin like that here... it was actually last weekend... one day...August 3rd.

except we don't have a festival. it's basically just a bunch of bikers that ride from point a to point b...and at the point b is the finish line where there is like a small party....Ride For Autism
