ARE YOU AN ADULT ON THE AUTISTIC SPECTRUM?

DO YOU HAVE AN INTEREST IN DRAMA, POETRY, MUSIC OR ANY OTHER FORM(S) OF SELF-EXPRESSION?

WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK WITH A GROUP OF OTHER CREATIVE AUTISTIC INDIVIDUALS, BUILD YOUR CONFIDENCE, DEVELOP NEW FRIENDSHIPS AND CREATE A UNIQUE EVENT WHICH WILL SHOWCASE THE WONDERFUL TALENTS OF PEOPLE ON THE SPECTRUM?

If so, come to Season Two of STIM ROCK EXPRESS, a six-month project which consists of an exciting series of fun, autism-friendly drama workshops that will end with a show.

THE AIM: To empower you as an individual and raise awareness of autism.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: Any adult (aged 18+) who has Asperger's Syndrome, High-Functioning Autism or PDD-NOS with an interest in the performing arts (this can include but is not exclusive to drama, poetry and music).

THE PROCESS: You will go through a series of intensive drama/performing arts workshops and create a show which will take place in April 2014 (World Autism Month).

You will be trained in acting and performance on stage and there will also be some opportunities available to those who only wish to be involved in other aspects of production (such as costume, script writing, props, stage design, stage management, lighting and sound).

WHEN: Thursday 24th October, Thursday 31st October then every Monday from 11th November (there will be a break for Christmas and Easter holidays) until the final show in April 2014.

If you are unable to attend the first 2-3 workshops due to other commitments, you may still be able to join the project at a later stage.

If you are a solo artist of any discipline and you would like to perform at the final show without having to participate in the workshops, you may be able to do so.

Email: [email protected] and ask whether this is possible.

TIME: 6.30 - 8.30pm (there will be a short break during this time)

LOCATION: NAS Ladbroke Grove Autism Centre, 73C St.Charles Square, London W10 6EJ

(The final show in April will take place at another venue)

COST: Free

HOW TO CONFIRM YOUR PLACE: Email [email protected] and 1. state that you would like to attend the workshops 2. tell us whether you can attend the first two workshops and if not, tell us when you would be able to start.

FOR FURTHER INFORMATION: Send an email with any questions to [email protected] or call 07704 246 555

I'd be probably interested in seeing the performance, I'm afraid I wouldn't have time to go through any workshops.
