A journey starts with a single step. In this case up the stairs to a 1930 Craftsman bungalow in Pueblo Colorado. Yep, the first home purchased [by 20 year old son] to be a part of the Autistic intentional community we are building there.
He closed on September 15th. The home is on 4 lots and so either he [ or Bobby and I ] plan to put in a double-wide manufactured home on a foundation fairly soon.
The place is a real fixer-upper, but the first thing we did was get rid of that evil and torturous fluorescent lighting. We are in the process of replacing and refinishing floors right now. AND, the owner of the house next door has already told us that when his tenants [ who are also relatives of his]2 year lease is up that he desperately wants to sell the place and that he would sell it below zillow estimate. Plus, one of the sons' of the 80 year old lady across the street is a home wholesaler who finds the best deals before they hit MLS. There are also a number of people who are thinking about buying there as well. And, we will probably So.. things are looking good.
If we already had access to several homes we would probably be hosting autHaven in Pueblo, BUT since we do not, Authaven will once again be in the mountains of Colorado at the nudist ranch again [ third week in march. 4 nights. $150 per person]
As soon as the Pueblo house is in a little better shape we will be hosting Autistic get-togethers there twice a month until late Spring, at which time we will be looing for a permanent meeting place.
