It's all context. I don't believe in giving up words because
of bullies or false stereotypes or prejudice be it ret*d or Aspie.
What about n****r or k*e? Those were pretty much if not right from the start slurs so I am ok with holding people accountable for using them. "ret*d" falls into that category also. A person reporting another person used the "N_Word" is a cop out that devalues how bad an error that person reported on made.

The author of this post was called "k*e" most often as well "ret*d" and "homo" by bullies in his youth more times then he cares to remember as well as being a victim of some "mild" anti Semitic vandalism.
