"We had him evaluated for a speech delay. He wasn't talking, so it really came out of nowhere for us," Jolley said. "He was so engaging and warm. I thought, 'He can't possibly have this.'"
Same thing happened with my parents in 1987 when they took me for the same reason. One doctor thought autism and they rejected the label. I was also loving and stuff and I copied my mother's moves and rocked a doll to sleep and roared like a lion. So they took me to a different doctor and he said language disorder for these reasons. My mom did wonder if she was being too proud but none of the doctors said I was autistic, only one doctor.
I am sure if I were born ten years later, more doctors might have said autism.
