Over the past few days, I have posted comments on the horrid Age of Autism website multiple times under the name "Aspergio the Magnificent". These comments were in disagreement with the views of the owners of the site and most of the users. When I posted the comments the site told me that they had to be checked by a moderator before they could be posted, which is fairly standard procedure on blogs and the like. Now, after several days in some of cases, none of my posts have appeared. Except for, it appears, one that was only mildly in disagreement with them:

Quote:
I am a teenager with Asperger's. I can't say for sure if I'd like to be a lawyer, or a biologist, or a filmmaker, or something else, but I'm sure that my AS will help me succeed.

The other comments, some of which were posted earlier than this one, have not appeared. Might this be censorship?

Of course it is, that's how those sites work. Ignore all the voices that disagree.

>Autism Epidemic

Stopped reading. You're wasting your time by posting comments there.

Yes, that looks like censorship.

There's a number of sites which do that - either agree with them or your post never appears.

It goes on at even higher levels including TV talk shows and newspapers (columnists).

Some sites which (falsely) claim to be scientific will reject valid scientific studies which do not match the particular spin they give readers on a topic.

This is not a credible source. It has even been labeled an enemy of the Autistic community in a site called Autism wiki.

If it's a privately-owned and operated website, they can censor anything they want, and there is nothing you can do about it.

The OP has not posted since 2011 and there is not anything you can do to bring that person back.

Off Topic Rant:
Lately when the topic of necrobumping comes up people rush in to defend the practice. I agree some topics remain relevant years later and current comments may add something useful. But more often then not it is a situation like this where somebody answers personal questions from a user that has been inactive for years then other people start replying to the inactive user without realizing it is a necrobumped thread. Most of the time time the original necrobumper knows they are doing it on purpose. I think this a form of trolling, the original necrobumper just seeing how many replies he or she can get.

The owner of this website approves of this so as said there is nothing I can do about the sanctioned necrobumping trolling.
