First White House Autistic Intern

Lansing resident Xavier DeGroat will be the first White House autistic intern in history starting exactly 2 weeks from today. It all began while he had had a special opportunity to visit the President of the United States Donald Trump in the oval office for nearly a half hour with his mentor and friend former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani. The internship will begin September 14th and end on December 14 just before holiday week.

While Xavier is in Washington DC working at the White House, he will be advocating for new legislation on issues relating to Law Enforcement interacting with those on the spectrum with focus on the FBI and Homeland Security. Most recently Xavier was persistent in getting 3 bills in the state of Michigan pass into law by Governor Gretchen Whitmer and is using that initiative to go beyond our state.

It will be a dream come true for CEO Xavier to have the chance to experience a variety of historical moments and activities all across the White House this fall, especially it being a challenging year with COVID-19 issues, also it being Election year for the office of the President. As he works through with the White House staff, he will one-on-one be meeting with multiple leaders including Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and others to discuss global autism affairs and possibly become an ambassador. Depending on the nature of employment opportunities while interning in Washington DC Xavier may stay living out there to reach his ultimate potential as a leading advocate for those with autism and any sort of disability.
