It's a TV show instead of a movie, but it is so great: A Kind of Spark. It's based off the book by Elle McNicoll. So good. You can watch it on BYUTV for free: www.byutv.org/a-kind-of-spark?utm_sourc ... ntent=show

“A Kind of Spark” is the best Autism representation I have seen so far.
Wrong Planet Thread ‘A Kind Of Spark’

As far as movies go my favorite is ‘Please Stand Bye’.

If your looking for action packed superpowers - "The accountant" with Ben Affleck

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2140479/

If your looking for a realistic portrayal of parenting a severely disabled child with autistic ID like symptoms then "There she goes"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/ ... e-she-goes

I meant to edit my last post but forgot to hit the 'Submit' button, so here is the slightly modified version:

I have seen:

Mozart and the Whale 2005 was good.

Temple Grandin 1993 (is also good and pairs well with Temple Grandin's TED Talks)

I haven't seen:

The Bridge (2013 TV series)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bridg ... _TV_series)
(Alex Plank who created Wrongplanet worked on this as a consultant / writer.)

Asperger's Are Us (2016 Comedy/Documentary)

Snow cake
Mozart and the whale
I am Sam
Temple Gradin
Mercury rising

are all the movies I have watched that pertain to the ASD subject matter. I do wish however that they would produce a movie with more adults that are a little more independent and can go under the radar and show how life can be if you 'mask" and what burn out looks like afterwards etc etc ..a movie that shows both side of the Autism world when dealing with those who can work marry etc but also burn out or meltdown in private and give a glimpse into that world as well.

I Am Sam?
Is he really supposed to be autistic?

Forrest Gump. I'm not sure if he was written as an autistic character, but I still think it's a good movie.

It’s been years since I saw the movie, but I do remember he’s described in the film as autistic and intellectually disabled.

Developmental delayed i would say, maybe a bit downs/autism. Its hard to pinpoint exactly what the producers were aiming for lol

I remember he was obsessed with the Beatles in a way that did resemble the hyper-focused interests of autistic people. He definitely didn’t have Down’s, though.

I thought Benny & Joon was a good movie. Although it is never said; I thought both actors played roles of people that might be on the spectrum.

While I could dream of
○ The Accountant [2016] and
○ Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them [2016]

It would probably be more realistic to go with
○ Astrid et Raphaëlle [2019– ] or
○ The Bridge [2013–2014]

But the best match to me would probably be
○ Adam [2009]

I saw that and had some pretty strong opinions.
It had a lot of potential.
