Yep I'll sign up. Coincidentally I made a thread asking for recommendations for social skills groups for adults in the UK and it didn't get a single reply. Sort of highlights the problem.

I caught something briefly on BBC Breakfast Television with a charming lady I seem to recall with a late in life diagnosis of AS.

I'm not sure how to access the whole wall, will look into it and let you know. I'm waiting to hear from the campaign team, I've asked to be featured. I've always wanted to be a Media Bunny and have the whole country listen to me rant about autistic rights...

Click the link in the first post, then "Be Counted" on left hand side, then "Be Counted Wall" on the right.

thought it's ASD services, and not only AS? services are crap whatever level on the spectrum,if are lower functioning, they send to LD services as well which is unsuitable,so often they've got no idea about the complex needs of autism, and judge it all as task avoidance, self injury for attention, accute challenging behaviors and retardation.

The lack of adult services varies in towns, like Manchester for example could be classed as very good for adult ASD services, but it's one of the worst for finding experienced ASD assessment,in another town in the country,it will be the opposite.

Social services need sorting out so that those on the spectrum who have enough support needs but are hf and don't have learning disability or a mental illness can get support through them to,or at the very least help to move onto something else.

It would be nice if there was more than the NAS dedicated to having specialist services in Autism and Aspergers.
