Should there be a campaign in favor or individual choice?

Erk! I've listened to the first few seconds of the video, where he says that he has Asperger's, and that it means he is half autistic and half not autistic.

Is it worth watching any more of his misinformation?

I'd say that's an overly simple way of describing Asperger's, since it lacks some of the symptoms common in other forums of autism (no delay in language development, no perceived lack of intelligence, ect.). It might be oversimplifying things, but it's not too bad considering a lot of people have never heard of Asperger's Syndrome and tend to associate autism only with low-functioning individuals.

"Half autistic and half not"...how can you be half of something that's a SPECTRUM?!?! I wouldn't say it's an overly simple way of describing it, I'd say it's a plain misunderstanding... most people are perfectly capable of grasping the concept of a spectrum, so why not just say it?

I watched it and thought it was just plain clumsy. Most of his descriptions are clumsy. However he enunciates and uses voice tone and inflection well so he's a good communicator. I.E. Not that autistics so NT's who are close minded might be more accepting of his views.

As for the OP:
Yes, I am all for a positive campaign that would promote the acceptance for AS and Autistics for who we are.

I'm in full support of a campaign that will show Aspies and Auties in a positive light. There are a lot of us out there, who have great personalities, and are very talented. We need to bring that to everybody's attention. It would be neat, if we each did a You Tube video of ourselves, and talked about our strengths and interests. I think that the world needs to see, that we can grow up to be successful human beings, and that we can contribute to society, though some of us may not be High Society.

I agree with your idea I think it is a good one, but I think it would be good to ahve one registered account to post videos on so people can look at all the different videos. Maybe it can have be done as a non profti (kind of out there). Any ideas?
