media influence

I've never really been influenced by media a whole lot. I'm sure i'm affected in some way, but none that i can point out.

I don't read the newspaper, watch tv, listen to the radio or go on the internet that often, and when i do go on the internet, it's just for research, or to go on this site, which only started today. I also rarely watch movies.

the only real media influences i do have are music, which isn't really a big influence, considering i only like approximately 4 or 5 popular bands because i write my own music, and videogames, which also aren't that big of an influence considering there are only 3 games i play.

I assume my lack of interest in media has something to do with having asperger syndrome, since everyone else seems to love it, but i'm not sure.

Whatever you do, DO NOT GO INTO YOUTUBE!! !! !! !! !! !! ! You may never come out!! !

Today's media does nothing for me, with all that Bubblegum Pop and Rap music. Television isn't that much, better. I'm better off, listening to Punk and Disco, because at least I know, that I like those two genres of music.

I don't watch tv, but that's because there never seems to be anything on it I feel like watching anyhow..

I like movies & music though, but I don't realy listen to mainstream music..

I also read a lot of newsppapers, but I stay away from those screaming headline ones..

I love the media. They're all such fools, that's why I'm studying to join them. XD

The media is built around the idea that everyone has the same ideologies, wants and thoughts. Once you have someone who steps outside these (almost anyone), it's power is restricted. For an autistic/aspie who has more or less no connection with the average NT that they're aiming at, their power is basically non-existent, which is half the reason it makes it so interesting for me to examine.

Though, to be honest, if anyone can really avoid the media that well, I'm very impressed!

I only rely on sources I know to be accurate. I have to admit to falling into the BBC's trap, and now I only trust news from there because it's checked five times before it goes out.

I have been sucked in that site for a while, but there are some great autism circles there, it was also there that I got the courage to tell all my firends that I have AS by posting a video of myself explaing more about myself.
