I also posted this to the general forums, but look at this character from South Park:

Image

Do you notice his hair? It's an "ass burger." He also has obvious social skills deficits and a lack of motor coordination.

Here are some quotes:

"I can't eat beef. I have a degenerative problem with my intestinal lining and beef really gives me gaaas." Possibly a reference to Leaky Gut Syndrome.

"Uh, can you take my stupid glaaasses and put them on the night stand. Make sure they're close by, because that fish upset my stomach and I might need them if I have to go to the baaathroom later on."

They never even mention the label. Was this a closet joke by the creators of South Park? How do you feel about it?

Maybe...

But I'm thinking it's more of a bad rip of Woody Allen and a way of introducing bad Jew jokes without Cartman starting them. Either way, it disgusted me.

How I feel about it would weigh heavily on whether or not the producers knew anything about Asperger's. Which I doubt.

Considering they insult everyone intentionally, if this was about aspergers they would say it. The opening text apoligized for anyone they've missed insulting so far.

It's just another annoying character, that's what they like.

South Park jokes doesn't bother me because they make fun of EVERYONE and if they haven't yet, they're planning on it. They don't discriminate. They just pick on everyone no matter who you are.

Trust me, i'd be more worried if South Park DIDN'T pick on us. That's just how they roll. It's like a mirror world: whoever they DON'T insult are they people they ARE insulting.

What's this? You wish that someone would bully you? NT bullies are standing by in every part of the world. You fool. You should not wish for this, unless masochism compels you.

Lucky that the Wishmaster is only a fictional djinn and not one of the real ones. BTW, actual djinns do not live in ancient relics.

How is South Park making fun of our condition bullying? They make fun of everyone. I just wish they do humor on us. They have already did it to ADD, Tourette'ss and to illnesses like AIDS.

And can we please cut out the NT crap? It's not just NTs who are bullying us, people with other conditions bully too. How do we know who the NTs are? They look just like everyone else. I have been bullied by other kids with disabilities and I have been bullied by other aspies too so that tells me we are just as capable as being mean as they are. Bullying isn't part of anything, it's part of being a human, part of their personality. It's not part of anything, not part of NT, not part of ADD, not part of Tourette's etc. I did not realize this till last fall. I used to think when aspies would be mean to me, it was an NT trait they have, bullying. But no it's them being an as*hole.
Instead of saying NT this and NT that, lets say People this and people that.

Psychometric research has found that Ashkenazi Jews have the highest mean score of any ethnic group on standardized tests of general intelligence, with estimates ranging from 7 to 12 points above the mean IQ of the general European population at 100, which ranges from 107 for Germany to 90 for Croatia according to Richard Lynn's estimates for 2006 . These studies also indicate that this advantage is primarily in verbal and mathematical performance; spatial and visual-perceptual performance is average.

Sometimes it's hard to separate bullying from other aspects of your life in considering what distresses you. By bullying, I mean festive and unprovoked delight in making others suffer. It becomes worse in the form of destructive competition, which is both selfish and dangerous.

Yeah, definitely... Parker and Stone know how to pick on a group in such a way that they actually support the ideas by picking on them (anyone remember when cartman faked being disabled and competing in the special olympics?)

Also, if parker and stone were to do an aspie episode (or even just autistics in general), they would be more likely to see our side of the cause, since activism (in this case, the whole "autism is an epidemic" argument) is the one thing that is usually cast in a completely negative light on that show...
