Not quite sure if this is where I should put this, but...

Has anyone heard of Y.A.P.S.? It's a Young Adult something or other, that basically is a socializing group for college students living with "mental illness." I was recommended to this group. Naturally, I wondered why, since I don't really have a mental illness (AS isn't mental illness, is it?). Instead, I thought more of several depression/suicidal tendencies/etc. (THAT is what I define as a sort of mental illness) so I did not go.

Has anyone heard of this group? Should I go? Finally, I don't like how AS is somehow apparently lumped into a "mental illness" grouping O.o

Strange... and their website is pretty bizarre too. I would rather resent being called mentally ill. The average college student is certainly quite a bit more unstable than I am.

I have some mental health issues, but I wouldn't want to be referred to as mentally ill.
