I work out 3-4 times a week. You'll usually catch me on an elliptical or a bike. Treadmills are fun only if I want to spend the next 2 days with a sore right leg.

As for sports, I suck at them. I hated gym class in high school.

Yup.

I've never been the athletic type. I've never really had much interest in sports either. The only "athletic" thing I can really do at all is swimming.

And I also prefer to use cardio equipment to get my move on.

I can run pretty fast, but I'm not that good at anything else. I'll get the hang of it temporarily when I play it in gym class, but I'm still not really good at it.

I'm not such a terrible runner, I'm a pretty strong swimmer, and I'm good at the high jump. When I was a little kid I was good at climbing trees, fences, rockfalls etc.

But team sports? Forget it. I suck.

I suck at most sports which sucks because I love to play them... well hopefully I can get my bowling avg up to 180 or so soon so I can bowl in an adult league insted of with my lil bros (one of which is like 10 times better then me.) But I am a pretty fast runner especcially short distances (but was never good enough to do short distance running on the track team.)

I detest utterly any memory of sports at school and any weight it gave to social pecking order. The jocks uh? Bunch a s**ts. I was outstanding at my subjects tho these carried zilch kudos.

Being the way I am (asperger?) I never understood why people wanted to play sports , even now what the hell is the point? Why? Running abt like little boys after a bladder.....uh?

I never have understood any rules of any sport.

I cannot catch, I cannot hit anything and maybe in all the years at school I kicked the ball twice. Character building, team playing ......my arse!

The joys of hearing the groans of being the last one to be picked - what would you rather I do - slit my throat?

I only ever went to one school sports day once I got to Secondary school (UK age eleven to sixteen).

I was a slow developer socially (never) and physically (slowly). At fifty I feel like twenty five. The muscle and stamina tough guy thing never appealed to me. Why? Do you wanna be like Hitler youth - does it turn u on? They loved exercise and sports..... and anyone different or not capable had a one way ticket. Many parallels.

I'll start out by saying I'm a total klutz with ball sports. I can't throw or catch to save my life! As a wearer of hearing aids, I used to run from oncoming balls as a kid fearing they would get hit. I do enjoy quite a few ball sports as a spectator, though.
Sadly during the time I was growing up, ball-playing sports were too emphasized in schools, making Phys. Ed. classes something I would almost always dread. In my later school years, other options became available and I went out for wrestling and loved it. Although my first season really sucked, I finally became a good enough wrestler to capture a couple of medals in amateur freestyle. During my college years when I was varsity wrestling during one semester, I was coaxed into some off-season intermural football by some other students who just needed one more body to comprise a team. To my surprise, I found out I had a good kicking foot and could play in the punter/kicker capacity without worrying about throwing or catching the football. On one day I remember busting out about a 40 yard successful field goal. I also had a number of good punts where the ball went out around the two yard line. I still have several pairs of hi-top cleats from these days as well as a couple of jerseys.

I'm bad at sports too. When I was in high school I was in Track and Field and I was like the slowest runner on my team. I do a lot of walking and bike riding and that's all the exercise I do. Dawn

Motor clumsiness is often associated with Aspergers Syndrome

I certainly have that, at least with my hands. I could easily win a fumbling contest if they had those in football.

raquet ball: always get hit in the head

volleyball: miss the ball, and get hit in the head, or score one for the other team

basketball: ya...you guessed it....hit in the head.

tennis: stomped on the tennis racket and broke it

baseball: cannot commit to meet all of the feaking time....OMG....didn't we just do this!...and I can hit the ball...but always throw the bat....accidently wacked a few umpires...in my time...also..get so confused....who's up....who's turn is it?....

cross country skiing....love it!! (can go anywhere...anytime of the day or night)

alpine skiing: love it....but get bored with skiing at one place....have to move around...to new places with new runs...

mountain biking....love it!! ! can go anywhere any time of the day or night. (big plus don't have to talk with whoever I'm biking with!)...ditto for cross-country skiing.

weight-lifting: absolutely love it!.....unless I go with someone who can't just do their thing...without me....and then meet up after....(for a few minutes) and then go home.

swimming: sometimes....(but I have this aversion to going into clorinated water...I can taste it...smell it...and it feels like its eating away at my skin) and if the pool is crowded I go insane....also...I get confused with the proper lane to swim in....even if there is a sign...I always fail to read or notice the freakin signs....I got into a fight in a pool once...."a whole claim the lane thing"....I am so ashamed! turned out I didn't read the sign.

....but I do like it...if the pool if almost empty...and I can swim and get into this kinda meditative state..and ignore the clorine.....then it feels good....and helps me feel my body and be somewhat grounded.

Yoga: my all time favourite!
especially in a semi-dark room, with no noise....except maybe for a singing bird or two...or the sound of the wind...
the release from stretching and doing the asanas...is amazing....and it's the only time I can connect my body to my mind....

aerobics class.....have tried them all....step-class....power yoga....etc....I cannot for the life of me follow the instructor.....they're going one way....I'm going the other....it's a whirl....I get dizzy and overwhelmed....and would run out of the class...I don't even attempt it anymore....

my other most favourite thing is: kayaking

it's me, and my boat and I float...or paddle....and sit experience and all of the sublte sounds and impressions....one time I kayaked into a flock of "Canadian Geese" and they were flying all around me....and I felt like I was flying with them....it's trippy...another time I went out onto the lake at night and I had "glow sticks" on my kayak....and some ducks got curious and started circling around me....I could reach out and touch them....I got to feel connected...which very rarely happens to me in real life.

also the biggest plus: I can do this with my partner and we can be together but I can be alone. It's perfect.

I'm rubbish at sports as I got dyspraxia and asthma.

The only sports I find interesting would be martial arts, football, dancing, lol. Other sports don't interest me.

In high school, decades ago, they still had "commando gym" a 5 day a week program started in WWII. School board just never got around to killing it. It was a gift to the bozo instructors: they would make us drill for 10 minutes and then it was "go play basketball" or if the weather was good, "go play baseball" and yours truly soon learned to just stand by the fence and watch. Teacher went into his little office and took a nap. Or in one case a few shots. Any other subject, the school was supposed to teach you something. In gym, only the kids who already knew how to play excelled. When I started college I was appalled to find it was more of the same. I'm PAYING for this nonsense and I'm back like in high school. We even had one "instructor" who chomped on an unlit cigar butt while "making men" of us. At least I wasn't alone here. Much later I worked in a movie theater. Long narrow room, I'm stuck in it for 5 to 10 hour stretches. I started jogging back and forth instead of my usual pacing. I worked up to over an hour and soon found that others couldn't do this! Then one of the movie ushers introduced me to real gyms. I took up weight lifting which I could do alone, at my own rate and without some moron "coach" mocking me. 15 years later I'm still lifting. I added quite a bit of muscle, dumped my excess fat and am in better physical condition than ever. Where was this stuff when I was being "taught" in phys. ed.?

A nice bonus is that a person doesn't have to get real social whilst working out. In fact, people who chatter away in the gym are looked down upon. There is structure to the workout plan and when I use an aerobic machine I can play all sorts of mental games with the ratios of time worked/time left and keep my mind in a pleasant trance.

I still can't catch a ball but I sure can run. And I still couldn't care less about pro sports. I can't get excited about watching some other people working out. My favorite line when asked "how about those.....(football team)..." is "OK, are we talking about baseball or basketball?"
