England were crap yesterday - still won one-newt though.

(And unlike a large proportion of people in Lancashire, I do not have tacky flags festooning my car or house).

I hope that England starts playing a lot better.

I will be supporting my (always disappointing but still) favorite team ESPAÑA and the latin american teams and basically any country that I have some friends from.
Yesterday I was happy for my mexican friends (and sad for my iranian friends ... but not just about futbol)

Since marrying a guy who doesn't like futbol anymore, i don't get into it as much as i used to, because it's not much fun to be the only one in the house cheering. but i will catch important matches on the spanish-language satellite channels.

I guess I'll be rooting for Australia from now on since they are the closest thing to the US.

Shouldn't aspies be rooting for the least emotional team?

Unless emotions are a spectator sport.

Maybe I'm weird in that ... I show a lot of emotions, but mostly when I "shouldn't".

I love Fußball! Germany vs. Sweden today, its going to be awesome!

i am sooooooooooo depressed with Holland being out of the World Cup, it was a awful game, the referee was issuing red and yellow cards like they are going out of fashion, he should be SACKED i demand a rematch

I heard on the radio today it was probably a world record # of red & yellos cards issued (in a WorldCup match?).

I think the amount of yellows dished out in that game equalled the record, the amount of red cards is a new record, both for world cup matches. 15 yellow cards is the most I have ever seen in any match actually.

That match promised to be one of the best encounters of the tournament..i was disgusted by the unsporting behavours of both teams but equally delighted that England will play a Portugal side missing key players like Deco, Costinha and hopefully Figo & Ronaldo

This is a stupid question, because I am not a very expert fan, but... I thought Ronaldo was Brasilian... Do Portugal have another Ronaldo, with the same name?

Yep, he's the pretty-boy who bursts into tears at every opportunity. For example, when Greece beat them to win the trophy at their own tournament

He got a nasty kick to the thigh in the last game that he'll hopefully need a week or two to recover from. Unlucky for him, but potentially great news for England.
