How many people know how to drive here?

I have driven since 17 years old and I have put over 500,000 miles on a few different cars. One has 330,000 miles on it and I check the fluids and wear on rubber parts every two weeks. Standard transmissions scared me since no one could explain how to drive them in a way I could understand.

I went to get a new truck 3 years ago and saw my dream car in the showroom. I looked in it and it had a 5 speed in it. I got mad that I initially dismissed the car and bought it out of spite. I stalled it about 20 times getting it out of the dealership parking lot and eventually figured it out. I hate being limited by what I don't want to learn and it typically creates crisis that I act against to prove I am not broken to myself.

I also build cars including a hot rod car and a old 56 pick up truck. ( I actually laughed out loud when I found out AS are drawn to cars and trains and stuff since my father lives and breathes cars, and I highly suspect that if he isn't AS, he is darn close, I got the genes from somewhere)

If I stay in the current area I live in and keep my current family income level, I am going to learn to drive race cars in 2 years.

I have been driving for 10 years. I think I am a fairly decent driver. I speed sometimes but not too often. I zone out alot so sometimes I go a little slower. I can drive on the freeway and surface streets.

I drive just not very well. I do it as little as possible but I can drive anywhere - surface, highway, downtown nyc (! !!). I didn't drive for 10 years and used the subway which seemed to take a terrible toll on my skills. I fully expect one day to have my license taken away by concerned relatives, and a little part of me will be happy about it.

I know how to drive I also got a driving license for both normal and automatic gears.
honestly I don't know how I passed the test lol,
I want to know if there is some one that look at the speedometer every time he switch the transmission (gosh I'm sorry for my english)

1 is 1-20km
2 is 20-35/40km
3 is 35/40-60km
4 is 60-80km
5 is 80-maximum

I'm still somewhat limited on my driving but, did get my license at the age of 33 just completely wired wrong under pressure. problems with gas and brake and complications because of that. my feet and brain just couldn't coexist under stress. finally I did it in 2006.

I got my permit at 17 and my license at 18. I'm still driving my old Ford Explorer after 3 years and counting. I drive continuously on highways, country backroads, and tight streets with no problem. I'm hoping at some point to finally get my motorcycle license as soon as I get the hang of manual gears on one, as neutral is damn near impossible to find.
I've never had any trouble driving, never in an accident, not even a violation or ticket. I think the only reason why I have no problem is that I had observed how my parents drive for so many years, I just memorized their techniques.

I still don't know how to drive. Eventually I will, but probably not for a long time. I haven't really needed the skill because my university is in the city. It's less expensive to not have a car anyways, plus I like biking and walking.

I have been driving for 20 years. I have driven long distances as well as interstate and surface roads. I have driven in foreign countries. I had a European license for a while when I was stationed in Germany. The truth is, I would not have learned to drive as a teen if it wasn't completely necessary. Driver's Ed was a required course, so that was that. No one knew about Asperger's or bi-polar so no one would have understood anyway. I have to drive now because my mom is not able to go to the store because she is physically disabled. She can drive, but doing the shopping is just too much for her, so I just do it. I have to get her to drive me at night, though, because I am night blind. Other than that and some anxiety issues in very crowded areas (DC-EGADS!! !) I do pretty well.

i can drive (big)tractors, telescopic loaders and i ride motorbikes. got a yamaha r6 at the moment. ive crashed several times, written a bike off, and had an extremely near miss at high speed. sometimes i think theres gotta be an angel looking over me

I got a learners permit at 15, license somewhere no longer than a year after that. I'm 19 now. I can drive and I have a car (it's a stick too), but I really don't like to. My mom drives me to most of my classes. I don't drive very far. Next semester I'll be going to a school where the students hardly ever leave campus, but if I want to come home I'll have to drive several hours I learned to drive a golf cart at a pretty young age, but I didn't want to (I don't remember why). My parents made me learn how, so I did have a teensy bit of experience driving. I used to have a ton of anxiety about driving on the freeway...I still have some, but I can do it if I need to (usually). I actually have a motorcycle license as well (I was interested in them for a while), but I don't ride one. I've ridden off road but I don't feel comfy riding on road.

The only thing I drive is a kart at a kart track and (occasionally) attempting to start Dad's car in large flat car parks. One day I may be able to drive on a regular road, but the prohibitive cost of learning to drive properly is putting me off at the moment.

I don't drive. It's a sensory overload thing. I grew up in China and I can't ride a bicycle either. It kinda sucks that I live in a typical suburb house with nothing within walking distance. I dream about selling the house and move to a condo that's close to everything. We really might do that in a few years. I'm not sure if either of my sons will be able to drive. One of them is autistic and the other one is severely color blind.

My brother and dad (also aspies) can drive. Though they're definitely not good drivers. Sitting in my brother's car stress me out. He's always stepping hard on the brake or turn sharply. My dad drives as slow as possible and usually get honked by other drivers. He prefers to let my mom drive to everywhere.

Oh I should say I do know HOW TO DRIVE. I used to have a driver's license. I learned and passed the tests, in a area with lots of open space and little traffic and no highway. I know how to operate the car but I can't handle on the road with other drivers.
