USA! USA! USA! But in all seriousness, as much as I would like my country to win I think that It'll be Brazil or England.

You seem to have missed how USA and England were both eliminated from this championship. Brazil could follow them next Friday! 8)

Dont see many goals in this game. probably be quite cagey, scrappy like most derbys, with neither team really being able to break each other down. so im going 1-0 to spain

............probably end up something like 7-5 to portugal now lol :D

Brazil will crush the orange team.

Either I'm Dutch, or I'm aware of their statistics:

Unbeaten over the past 24 matches
Just 1 goal against in the group phase, from a penalty
Finishing the group with 9 points
Just 1 goal against in the 2nd phase, from another penalty

Not too bad! ;)

Germany v Argentina game would be the big one for me as I like both teams.

Germany's biggest weapon is the counter-attack, which had really showed England up. Argentina on the other hand has made passing look like an art form, good on precision timing and makes it look so easy.

Both teams play a form of attack, Argentina plays it more collected whereas Germany play more direct with fast counter-attacks.

No, but I wish I'd put a bet on the final score in the Paraguay v Japan match. That one had 0-0 written all over it.
I'd considered putting a bet on Germany beating England (since the bookies had Germany as slight underdogs!) and on South Africa beating France. :(
(Obviously I wish I'd put a bet on Italy finishing bottom of their group, but I would never ever have even thought of that happening!)

The Dutch have a really good chance at taking it all now.

This match was very exciting! Suicide goal, red card... Let's see the best moments once again!

Does anybody know if the first Dutch goal was technically an own goal or sneijders? everybody is saying its an own goal, but for that to be the case the shot/cross cant be on target. therefore as, if the defender didn't touch it then it would have gone in anyway. so surely it should have been credited to sneijder?

If somebody can clear that up for me then that would be great, as i've always been told that if the cross/shot is on target before hitting the defender, then the "shooter/crosser" should be credited with it!

But of course if it wasn't alread going in then it would be an own goal!

Thanks x :D

Also by the looks of it dunga has resigned as manager. I dont think it was really his fault though, if Melo kept his cool and didn't get sent off then it would have been afar different game!

I'm sad about that. This is the first time I've been interested in football, and I wanted Argentina to win.
