You get low mood without training because it is a natural and healthy drug wich is easy to get addicted to the depression is a sort of comedown so is the restlessness etc, if you have bad muscvle injury etc I sudjest maybe going into the swimming pool and doing some training in their at a very low and steady pace just to help with your restlessness.

as to your other question I am just getting back into my running and boxing as since coming out of the army I have gained a stone or 2.
so I am looking forward to training again. the only reason I havent been training is because of stress and depression, wich coincidently was from lack of training. also training is the best anti-depressant in the world wich is even more ironic.

Yoga and Pilates on regular basis + some weight training once in a while. I also walk pretty much everywhere, but I don't get out of the house often so it doesn't count as much.

Strangely enough I don't get the famous "high" form intense exercise, nor does it help me sleep better. After an hour and a half on the treadmill I'm sweaty and exhausted, but after the shower I'm fresh and my mind is racing as always - all ready for a sleepless night. For some weird reason, if I'm depressed or in a bad mood cardio for more than 30 minutes makes me angry

I think you're absolutely right.

Eating right is like most anything else ... make a habit of it, and it gets easier. Eating right is not exactly rocket science, either. For lots of people (myself included), staying away from fast food and soft drinks goes a long way. Be careful about fat and salt and sugar, and remember that generally speaking the more processing something has, the worse it is for you.

And people pay zillions of bucks for nutrition gurus to tell them that ... haha.

In August I started walking 10, 15, 20 miles a day, 5 to 7 hours a day- not specifically for physical exercise (though I have gotten in great shape) which I don't always especially care for, but rather to clear my mind.

I usually workout about 6 days a wk. About 3-4 times a week I run/jog 6-8 miles and then run with pace twice a week about 2 miles. 3-4 times a week, I go to the gym and lift free weights or do some conditioning. I used to play ball, but ran out of people to play in the last couple of years. About 3 wks ago, I strained/tore a quad and have only been able to do light running/exercise since then.

Wow ... it doesn't sound like you need any advice from us!! :)

I'm a jogger/hiker (not 6-8 miles, though!), and I can still wear the same clothes I wore in high school.

I'm thankful I live in a warm climate because I don't like to run indoors in the winter.

Nothing else to add, really. Take care of that quad.

I have loose tendons and ligaments in my knees and ankles, this has caused repeated injurys when I run. The only thing that I have found to curb injuries, and help me recover afterwards is...

1. Practicing yoga daily (flexibility)
2. Walking one day for every two days I run (recovery)
3. Doing a low impact activity like Roller Bladeing as a substitue activity

Hope this helps

Horsebackriding. it's therapeutic as well. Who's more of an aspie hero than the cowboy? he's always alone and misunderstood. He's more at ease with animals than other people; he rides into a towen filled with nice normal neurotypicals and drives out the brigands, rapacious railroad barons, greedy bankers, corrupts sheriff, etc. and for a while he thinks he's found a home. But, you know, despite his good deed and his pure soul, he doesn't quite fit in and in the end he rides away.

In the last few years I run. To prevent injuries I run barefoot (or in minimalist shoes.)

I don't really have a set pattern to when I do it though. I just run when I feel like it. Which ends up being most mornings at dawn in the trails of a park near where I live. And sometimes of an afternoon after work at the beach (followed by a dip.)
