hello guys basicly i lift weights have done for a while and have recently started a 12week course of test e (legal here so dont start!) 500mg a week.
along with small sides the sexual appetite going up it seems to do alot for me mentally i think better dont get depressed and just feel great tbh and getting bigger!
my main question is do men with AS have low test levels? should of got bloods done beforehand to check tbh but dont know how to approach my doctor about that tbh.
anyone else had the same effects? this has improved my life alot and now have a new gf that i get on really well with think this has helped alot!

seems like life is going well for you. Congrats. I suspect I've had a low testosterone for years, and if not low, then certainly lower than my peers. But I don't know because I have never had it checked.

I lift weights occasionally but I'm not super into it. I have tried to get into it before getting psyched out upping my testosterone and getting bigger, but I feel like weight-lifting just isn't for me. I have always had bad posture (this was confirmed multiple times by different chiropractors with x-ray machines saying that same thing), so I don't know. I don't want to go too hard and create any more muscle imbalances than I already have.

The thing about weightlifting, like fixing cars is that everybody thinks they know how its done. That actually might be the result of testosterone talking, but every website it seems every personal trainer has different advice, different techniques, different nutritional strategies. There is a lot that can go wrong, you can wear out your knees doing squats, and there is a lot of bad advice.

Or maybe I have just had a weak core (abs stomach, gluts) my whole life and that is why I just can't get started lifting heavy. I do pushups and pullups and I'm struggling with those at home.

I prefer body conditioning like training in kickboxing/mma that has more functionality to it then to just get bigger. That seems to be what I am better at.

I gain muscle easily, so my testosterone levels are probably high.

I've thought of that, AS men having low test levels. I have a friend who tried test, too, I think he did 300mg? He's diagnosed Aspergers, diagnosed as a kid. Anyway, he said he was a lot more confident on the stuff. Oddly, he said his worst side effect was in class he'd argue with people a ton, like he said he'd have debates where he'd totally rock people's worldviews and stuff.

I've never had labs done, though, so I don't know how high my test levels are. I do seem to gain muscle relatively easy, but I also eat a lot, lol. Hmm, maybe eating a lot is due to high T, too? Who knows, anyway.

I'm unwilling to mess with steroids at this time, though. First off, I'm broke and it's illegal unless I get a TRT prescription (which is more cash), and the side effects do scare me somewhat. It seems a bit like a Pandora's box I don't really wanna open right now.

I've taken a few herbal things reputed to help. I've taken fenugreek. Fenugreek increases my libido a ton, but didn't help me as far as strength or endurance went really. Also, I do believe I got a bit mood swingy on it. I didn't take pills or extract, though, I'd just simply buy fenugreek as a spice and grind it up and take a spoon of the powder, or make a strong tea of it. One thing I'm taking lately is a Chinese tea labeled "Strong Back Tea" which is Eucommia bark. Eucommmia bark if I understand it right, basically acts like a selective androgen receptor. Its use is very uncommon as a supplement, though, it's not caught on yet here like Tribulus or something has. I like that stuff a lot. I feel good on it, and definitely have better endurance and power on it.

One thing I notice with higher T levels and general feeling good, it's a bit of a catch 22, is that I'm a lot more outgoing and confident with them. But the problem is, it doesn't solve my social awkwardness. So I'm still awkward, but I just don't care, and because I don't care I'll be even more awkward. In some sense, it's a "cure" for AS, hormone manipulation like that. As it'll solve the confidence problems, and pretty much make you the same, but better. In this regard, it's weird why it's not prescribed more, as we're willing to alter seratonin and norephrine levels and whatnot at the drop of a hat to make ourselves feel better (in the form of psych meds.)

Lastly, scientifically, I know there's a link between high prenatal testosterone levels and ASD, but I don't know if there's ever been a study done between adult ASD hormonal levels vs general population. I'd love to see one.

I should think that since Autism is linked to higher levels of testosterone exposure in the womb, the opposite would be true.

Last study has debunked this link.... so far.

"However, the findings do not exclude an association between testosterone exposure in early intrauterine life and ASD."

Nevertheless, interesting. Thank you for sharing.

In science they rarely close doors.

However, we no longer can talk about the link as if it's true.

I have recently come to a thought that HIGH T in the womb may mean LOW T after birth and possibly hypoganadism...

Is anyone going to admit to having small testicles?

HA!

For boys its completly normal to have high testosteron levels in the womb, because elseway the evolution of the boys body would get influenced by the mother naturally high estrogen levels during pregnancy. The testosteron level has too match up with the high estrogen amount of the mother, to reach in the end the right balance between estrogen and testosteron to develop as a boy. So boys before and shortly after birth have normally testosteron levels that are matching with average grown up men, which is the 100 times amount they have some days later, when they only need to match with their own natural estrogen levels. So there is nothing weird about babyboys having high testosteron in the womb and directly after birth, thats normal for boys.

I dont think that autism is influencing or lowering the testosteron level directly, so I even have slightly higher testosteron amount then normal for a woman. (Nope causing no negative physical or visual effect, the normal maximum amount for woman is around 2,90, so even with the double amount I am not matching with male testosteron amounts that are as far as I know between 15 and 40.) I think the sometimes lower testosteron amount of aspie boys might more be related to different behaviour. So the amount of testosteron and estrogen you produce is not stable, anyway what you do, but stress as example is lowering the testosteron amount, while competitive social situations with other boys is increasing it and so on, so when you are doing that typical NT puberty stuff as example. So your behaviour and your surrounding have influence on your hormon production.

If you use artificial testosteron, then try to stay inside the natural limits, because your body always is trying to get back to a normal testosteron/estrogen balance, depending upon your sex. There is nothing bad about it, so if your testosteron levels are increasing naturally a little bit within the normal limits, then normally your body raises your estrogen levels a small bit as well, to keep your normal hormon balance. Nothing bad about it, because male and females have naturally testosteron and estrogen limits, and as long as both stays around that limits everythings ok. But if you are increasing artificial your testosteron levels into amounts that a body naturally cant produce, then your body tries to raise your estrogen levels by a similar amount to get the balance back your body needs and is even able to use the testosteron and turn it into estrogen. And if you raised your testosteron to the 3x amount your body normally has, then your body tries to do the same with the estrogen, so that the balance of estrogen and testosteron is fitting again. Sadly having three time the testosteron AND estrogen level you should normally have, simply leads to the typical bodybuilder problems like big muscles and mini-balls, ... because having exremly much testosteron and estrogen simply leads to both hormones doing their job extremly.

Before using artificial testosteron, you also should think about, that giving your body artificial hormons leads to your body producing lesser of that hormone on your own. So if you take artificial testosteron, you lower the rate of the natural testosteron in your body, so as long as there are no medical causes (because of you having health problems due to your low hormon rates) I would avoid it, and instead push your own natural ressources to raise your natural hormon output. (Sport, ...)

I'm on some meds for male-pattern baldness that have effects of lowering testosterone but without meds most of my T goes towards masturbating & facial hair & male-pattern baldness I think more than the average guy. I hit puberty early, had bad acne & growing some facial hair in 9th grade & masturbated aLOT. Even when I was working alot doing various physical activities my strength & muscles didn't increase that fast. I notice I feel better mentally with lower T

That's interesting -- I have some mild endocrine weirdness and my mood is better when my T is low (which I gather is the opposite of what's supposed to happen).

For the thread, in my 20's an endocrine work up showed my T at 1042 ng/dl, which is almost over the top end of the normal range. Now it's lowish, though.

lucky you. I think the highest mine ever measured was 810, when I was in my early 30s. now it is less than half that. hoping a combo of maca, dhea and fenugreek will fix things without having to go the T supplementation route.

It's weird, though, when it's high I seem to feel more emotionally fragile so those years when it was were kind of hellish. My muscles have thinned and etc. since then so I can see the downsides, too, tho.

funny, when mine was high I was MORE emotionally stable. I guess T is one of those things where "your mileage may vary."
