Hi, I am not sure if this is the right place to post this and I apologize if it is not.

I am posting this in hopes that someone has experienced it or has knowledge about this.

Being an Aspie, I have sensory sensitivity which is common, but I am experiencing an increasing hypersensitivity to sound, smells, color and light. This started in the middle of May (2014), but about 2 weeks ago, I developed a lack of appetite. I am now making myself eat out of necessity and I am trying to make it a nutritious as possible. I have lost, at last check (2 days ago), 18 pounds so far and my agitation has been increasing alongside the hypersensitivity. i.e., loud and/or repetitive sounds, bright light/colors will make me aggressive, most smells actually makes me more nauseous if not completely sick and the need/feeling to become reclusive is strong.

So far my medical doctor and psych doctor have been running labs/tests and wanting to throw more medications at me, which I am not in a hurry to do so, yet (I take enough imo). They are stumped to know what it is going on since the labs/tests have come back normal, hence my reluctance to take more medications. I have been taking my current meds for years with no changes and they have, so far, worked well.

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi, thank you for responding, auntblabby. :D

I did do some research on chronic fatigue syndrome as you suggested and unfortunately I do not have those symptoms to be able to help me identify this problem I am going through. I really do appreciate your response and effort to help me. Thanks again. :)

Could it just be chronic stress? Has anything came up in the past month or so that has thrown you off balance? That could have been the cause of your symptoms. I've been known to vomit from being so stressed.

This is typically caused by sleep deprivation, malnutrition, or stress. I suffer from insomnia every now and then--and I experience this as well. Genuine CFS is a rare disorder, so you shouldn't jump to conclusions yet.

Sounds like me when I'm withdrawing from benzodiazepines. Same thing if I stay at a constant dose for too long (i.e I don't keep increasing it). Just wondered since they're dished out to everyone so much.
