It seems like I meet at least these 4 minor criteria:

Quote:
· A Beighton score of 1, 2 or 3/9 (0, 1, 2 or 3 if aged 50+)
· Dislocation/subluxation in more than one joint, or in one joint on more than one occasion.
· Abnormal skin: striae, hyperextensibility, thin skin, papyraceous scarring.
· Eye signs: drooping eyelids or myopia or antimongoloid slant.

I'm thinking of seeing a geneticist. I can bend my thumb to my forearm on both hands, so I have a Beighton score of at least 2. My knees often sublux out and pop back in. My skin is hyperextensible. And I have borderline moderate-to-severe myopia--I have to wear glasses for basically everything, even reading (because otherwise I'd have to move what I'm reading right up to my face).

I'm in contact with a family friend with EDS, and she said she got diagnosed by a geneticist a 3 hour drive away. I'm thinking of seeing that geneticist.

No harm in seeing someone, but bear in mind that a diagnosis might not change much for you. If the effort is worth the value then definitely do it. (Qualified medical doctor with specific orthopedic experience)

Funny EDS should pop up - I've been reading alot about it lately. I suspect I may have it. I'm also on the inspire forum for EDS.

I'm not very hypermobile but I found this list

http://www.oreds.org/uploads/3/1/5/0/31 ... st2012.pdf

and I have quite a number of symptoms on that list. I think next time I see my doctor I will check off what I have on that list and show him, perhaps he can have me tested. The oreds site mentions that you can lose alot of hyperflexibility as you age.
