When they say u should drink 4 pints of water a day..... Does that include a pint of milk? Throughout the day I will drink 4 pints of pure water add to that a pint of milk.

Basically is a pint of milk the same as a pint of water?

No, not quite. Lactose is much thicker than water and doesn't do much to flush impurities out of your organs, like pure water does. Drink both (the calcium in the milk will help strengthen your teeth), but don't count the milk as part of your MDR (Minimum Daily Requirement) water intake. Think of the water as (among other things), keeping your internal filters from getting clogged up with crud. It also hydrates your skin and keeps it supple, which will slow the aging and wrinkling processes, which you might not think is important now, but you can't start too early.

In short, yes.

If a drink is H2O based, it's similar, but I'd not drink 4 pints of milk each day just because of the cost and calories.

Sodas and alcohol don't count as both dehydrate you (soda water [carbonic acid] has to be converted to H2O in your body...at a net loss).

Heck, soups and other foods with lots of H2O in them can count, but unless you take in an excessive amount of H2O, you are still wise to drink the amount of plain water recommended.
