Do you have to take a shower after the gym?

I would take a shower, if I were you.

You want to smell nice for Jeff!

I would go home and take a shower rather than use nasty gym showers.

I take one before and after. Because I'm strange. I don't even sweat, but I want to wash off the germs and chemicals from the gym.

Well I make sure that I've had a nice big shower the night before so I can get up and go in the morning and ideally I definitely want a quick shower again if I've just done a serious work out so I leave the gym and go home for my shower. XD

Take another one after you work out---either at home or at the gym.

I don't find the gym showers to be nasty. Most people who go to a gym use them. Even compulsively clean people.

I'm like that too, I go home after the gym & take a shower, I'm weird about germs & chemicals, cuz of my psoriasis.

Gyms are actually usually extremely germy, and it's easy to catch all sorts of nasty things there. MRSA, viruses, fungal infections, etc.

The owners are pretty good about cleaning at the one I go to, but some of the other members are disgusting and don't clean up after themselves. They leave clothing, shoes, and empty bottles around, stuff up the toilets, and rarely wipe the equipment down after using it.

If I see someone use the equipment before me and not clean it, I'll clean it before I use it, and then afterwards. People are just really inconsiderate.

The one I frequent is usually clean. There is always someone cleaning up/on janitorial as well (one of which I also highly suspect of being a fellow aspergian). Not to mention a 3x a week scrubbing of everything. Only know of maybe 2 people who go there that do not clean up after themselves who are both in the just out of high school crowd.

On average, how long do you all spend at the gym for each session?

I would like to get back into shape again, and today made an enquiry to a local gym regarding membership costs. It's moderately priced at £185 a year but I fear that if I do pay, I will never go due to social anxiety.

Hey, but I had heard that immediately after gym or any workout, one shouldn't take shower. Because after having workout, temperature of the body increases and fats are burned. So, let the temperature of the body calm down first.
Is that so?

That's a very good price, is that at a leisure centre?

I tend to overdo everything, so I'm at the gym 1.5 - 2 hrs at a time, 3 -4 days a week. I rarely do cardio, because I spend all that time strength training and then I'm exhausted and want to go home. In better weather I will start doing cardio outside again.

No, it's chiefly a gym. My town's leisure centre charge just over £250 for the year.
